Q: Will Grabber Blue be available on the Mach-E GT?
A: Yes, Grabber Blue will be a color option for the GT, along with one other color not yet announced. We had such a strong response to Grabber Blue we decided to make it available for the GT. Customers can place a reservation now and switch to these two additional colors later. They will appear on the builder before launch.
Q: Will there be any more colors announced for the other (non-GT) models?
A: No, this is the color palette for the first model year.
Q: How are pre-order reservations going so far?
A: We’re almost sold out of the Limited Edition model. Will probably be sold out within a week. We’re almost close to running out of our 2020 production units.
Q: Will the Mach-E be available for lease?
A: There will be a lease-like product offered. It will behave like a lease, but the key difference being that the vehicle will be titled in the customer's name (rather than the Ford Vehicle Company). The reason for this feature is to pass 100% of the government EV tax credit to the buyer. Otherwise, this lease-like product will behave just like a lease -- at the end of the “lease” period, the customer can turn the vehicle in no questions asked, or buy out the vehicle at a pre-set price. This product will be the only lease-like product available.
Q: Is homelink built into the SYNC system?
A: No, it’s activated by physical buttons only - on driver side sun visor.
Q: Can the front cameras act as a dashcam?
A: More details to come on that. The hardware is capable. With OTA Updates capability, these are the types of things we’re working on, giving customer’s cars more capabilities as they own it.
Q: Will there be a sentry mode?
A: Stay tuned. The OTA capabilities of the vehicle we’ve still got some things that the team’s working on, so between now and the time we launch, we’ll share more as we get closer to the launch date.
Q: Will there be a backlit pony badge option available on non-GT models?
A: No, it will be exclusive to the GT.
Q: What does the 4 and X in the "Mach-E4X" door badge stand for?A: The 4 indicates AWD and the X indicates extended range model.
Q: Where is the 12v battery located?
A: Under the hood, towards the back on one side.
Q: Is there a heat pump?
A: No heat pump in the Mach-E.
Q: Are US tow raings available yet?
A: US tow figure has not yet been certified.
Q: Will there be a roof rack available?
A: We’re working with one supplier on a unique way to mount a roof rack. The roof rail molding is a unique design on the Mach-E so because of that we’re looking at a different type of technology for how to get a roof rack This will be coming out closer to launch.
Q: Will there be a trailer hitch available?
A: Not for the U.S.
