I wonder what software update he's talking about - if its the same one we've all been getting, it doesn't sound like that changes anything about charging, if it changes/improves DC fast charging, then its a different one that perhaps beta program people are getting?

I think it's safe to assume it's the same one that is generally rolling out right now (which as you correctly say has no DCFC implications that we know of) since it's a purchased car. It's possible it's on the beta release list but we've heard no rumors of that next one going out yet, and it feels unlikely Ford would have overlapping update deployments like that.

A lot of my issues with charging went away when I turned Plug&Charge off.

Agreed that it should be more reliable, and there's no way it should have launched without a way to link Plug&Charge to your Pass+ membership, that's so basic. Why would they think we want to pay more?

Cool to see that the return trip was fairly uneventful. We need more people calling out Ford for the DC charging. @OutofSpecKyle does a great job of calling attention to it, especially since he knows Ford and the MME are capable of doing better at charging. They just have to want to get better at charging at least as much as we want them to be.

Right now, it is faster and more reliable to just skip Plug & Charge.

I'm sure Ford and EA will figure it out sometime soon.

All I know, when I get mine, I am going to put glass cleaning stuff under the rear trunk or in the frunk. Only thing I will miss at gas stations is the glass cleaning tools.
