1100 is not expensive, there is so much details in the front end! My installer finished the hood, fenders, front bumper yesterday!

For the pony on the front, did they
1) cut around it?
2) cover it?
3) remove it and put it back over the film?

Our RR FE is at the shop now... They informed me that the Xpel scan scheduled for the 16 th was delayed due to the weather. They are expected to start 3D Scans today. Ours should have the Templates ready for next week application and then Ceramic Coat.

Our Shop is using our FE as an example / advertisement

That's funny, that they want to wait for templates

An Ottawa shop (well known) quoted me $1100 CAN 4 weeks ago for a full front ( fenders, hood, mirrors).... No need for templates

Some installers are charging way much more... Had another place quote me $1650
1100 CAN is bonkers for a full front. I got an XPEL quote for approximately 2500 USD to do a full front, and most other quotes I got were not that much less. I think I'm doing Suntek, since the quality seems comparable and I am getting prices that are half of XPEL...

On a related note, now that I know my seats are white, is anyone getting seat protection?
I bought a ceramic coating for leather/vinyl from a company in Canada. If you use it you don't have to apply it again for 2 years. Ceramic coating prevents stains, creases and tears. It was pretty expensive but hopefully worth it.

How long do they less expensive ones last for?

Or does it depend and you see it from how water and crap reacts on the paint?

You mean regular leather cleaners and conditioners from Mequiars for example? I think that lasts about 6 months to a year but I don't do it over again myself that often (I pay to have them detailed). If you're asking about ceramic coating on the paint of the car, it is supposed to last 2 years according to the directions; it's a 10h coating (professional coatings supposedly last longer). Regular waxes last 3-6 months (you can look at directions on them to see what they say). I used to wax the cars in the spring and fall and polish them in between. Turtle Wax now makes a spray wax hybrid with wax polymers and a ceramic coating material. I don't know how long that is supposed to last. Last year I used their ICE line of products and was pretty happy with that but it doesn't last as long as ceramic.

8 mil.
10 mil was tempting but 8 mil is more widely used.
How many different thicknesses are there with Xpel? Are these the "self healing" films?

3-4
5-7
8-9

Something like that, I think there are three but I am no expert, might only be two. I am looking at the thicker vs thiner. I am also not sure of the price difference between the two.

I think all now are "self healing", just the thicker the more protection. I am also adding a coating to the windshield of another product, I forget what it is called. It's not cheap, but none of this stuff is cheap. I am probably crazy for doing it but would let me sleep at night.

Thanks. I assume that the cost goes up as the thickness does. I will have my detailer apply the Xpel on a partial front (clear "bra") and front of the mirrors. After that I'm applying a 10h ceramic coating on the paint and another ceramic coating on the upholstery myself as preparation will be minimal since the car is brand new. Lastly, I'll be spraying 3M Scotchguard on the carpet/mats. The detailer quoted me a ballpark figure of $1,000 for the Xpel but said he would have a firmer price after he sees what the cost of the template is.
