Stek PPF going on this week. I've barely driven the car to prevent any paint damage. The Stek has a ceramic coating on so I'm doing the whole car. I applied Cquartz to the leather interior, it came out good, but I may have applied to much in one spot so it looks wet all the time now. I'm not worried though so for all those who have the light interior the Cquartz is safe to apply on it. I'm going to be doing my friend's MME next week and he has the dark interior.
Once this all done my Rogue goes to a new home and the pony will be out and about.

You're braver than I am! I ordered C Quartz Ceramic Leather protectant but then read the warning about light colored seats and the warning that it was for professionals and not DYI and I chickened out from applying it even though I did a test application on the middle rear headrest I took out of the car for better rear view mirror visibility. It came out fine. I ordered a product from Amazon that was specifically for "Faux" leather and it works great. I wasted my money on C Quartz unless I change my mind about using it. ?

I used it and it was the 2019 version. I did a test by pulling down the back seat and applying it on the leather on the outside of the seat (its normally hidden when the seat is upright. No issues. Use it. Their products are high quality. Don't be scared of it and don't let it go to waste. I wear jeans all the time so I'd rather take the chance with the cquartz then be have Jean transfer. Plus with 2 young kids everybody thinks I'm crazy going with the light interior but with our summers getting in the 100's I don't feel like have 2 baby hot dogs in the back.

Yeah, maybe I’ll try it. The seats are made with ActiveX and not leather. What’s this about a shiny spot? That’s probably what the maker is warning about. Did you leave it on too long before you wiped/buffed it? Too much C Quartz on that spot? If I do use it I’d like to learn from your experience. Please let me know.

Actually it's on dark section of the door near the window on passenger side. I didn't wipe off enough of the excess. I'll Probably clean that section and reapply when I get it back from PPF but I'll see how it looks maybe it won't trigger my ocd when I really look at it.

I know it's not leather just easier to call it that. Also anybody notice that there's quite a bit of blue in the black interior or is that because of the infinite blue that makes it look blue.

Scratch that I remember now. It's the meguiars interior protectant that I used to clean that section. I didn't rub it in enough

I don't notice blue in the Space Grey material but then again, I'm partially colorblind (or so my wife says). I also bought some ceramic coating for the car (10h coating) but I chickened out on that too when I saw all the prep work to get the paint ready (power washing the car, cleaning to remove iron; color correcting paint with electric buffers; clay bar the entire car; alcohol wipe the entire car and applying the coating correctly then buffing again).

Well at least we know now it's not the ceramic coating.

I do this every year to my SpecV. It's a 2 day process and I wasn't even going with the ceramic coating at the end. I don't have that kind of time anymore not for 2 cars anyways so PPF it is.
Once you do that process you would be surprised just how much deeper the color gets and how dirty your car really is. Every step removes a layer of dirt you don't see. The longest part of the process though is taping the trim. What a pita that is.

I'm getting ready to pull the trigger on getting front-end PPF treatment for my Mach E. I've gotten quotes for full hood, front bumper, fenders, headlights, and mirrors for $1750-$1895. Excluding fenders, one shop said it would be $1495, which I am considering. I don't recall having much damage on my fenders in the past.

I am wondering if there would be a noticeable difference in the look of the car between the hood and fenders if one had film and the other didn't, since they are directly adjacent?

Also, this might be interesting to others. I was worried if I were to get in an accident, would the insurance pay for having film applied again, or would I be SOL? I called USAA and was on the phone with them for close to an hour (on hold for much of that while they researched), talked to four different people and they finally concluded that it WOULD be covered. It is under "Custom Equipment" with $5000 coverage. This is in CA, so not sure if it applies to every state, and of course I would have to produce documentation of what it was and how much it cost. But, worth checking out with your insurance company.

What product is that? Xpel?

Maybe prices in the US is very expensive? For simple front end treatments I get between 400 and 750$ depending on whether I do the bumper and lights.

I paid 1500 for hood, bumper fenders, and mirrors in Houston this week, so price is reasonable. You will not notice a difference between wrapped and naked panels.

I've been looking at PPF for a few weeks now, and found a couple of quality places in Seattle, but holy shit it's expensive here. Getting just the front done by itself isn't too bad, but once you start adding on the other high traffic areas plus the ceramic coating, it adds up to the point that you may as well wrap the whole thing.

I'm also thinking about getting stealth, because I really like the look, but I just want the colored panels done, and keep the black glossy. I think that will look sharp, but I'm concerned about the cost. We'll see once I get the car, and can take it over to a couple installers to get a quote.

I've had a couple of installers say they'd give me a discount if they let me use the car in their YouTube videos, because none of them have gotten their hands on one yet, which is pretty cool.
Also Seattle and thinking about this. What places have you found and how much is it costing, round-abouts?

found 3 registered places that do Xpel, just use the website. One in burien has already done a machE but was couple hundred more - pista film. I ended up booking with northwest Autoshield at around $1600. 3rd one was mobile operation which my garage is too dusty to facilitate

I have had my car for 10 days now. 2 of the days were spent in the Accutint NW shop located in the Cadillac dealership off of 175th and Aurora in Shoreline. Gregg was a fabulous guy to deal with, great communicator, and I’m extremely happy with the end result.
$1800 + tax for full hood, fenders, all front bumper, headlight, mirrors, door edges AND wheel arches (my extra request). Highly recommend you check him out!
