To protect the front windshield for those with LV battery problems who want to vent their frustrations. :p
Or for those punching through windows because PaaK is failing (or also because they can't get into their cars due to LVB... :))

So - I dropped my car off at the local XPEL installer yesterday for them to start work today (Wednesday).

As I'm driving there it hits me - Front License Plate Bracket....

Anyone have any idea what your plans are to work around it? Unfortunately it seems that it's attached using plastic rivets from the factory, so no way to cleanly remove. I wish I would have thought about it before now and maybe I would have just drilled it out myself, then I'd have to figure out how to reattach. Installer mentioned he could just cut around it, but I'm not 100% keen on that, but not sure what else to do. Don't think he was comfortable drilling it out himself.

If the plastic rivets are like those in frunk it should be no problem removing them and reattaching them after Xpel. Just need right tools. I just received a set of plastic removal tools from Amazon for $10.

If you like those tools would you please post a link here?

I was quoted XPEL for $5800 for the entire MME + $700 Windshield and it includes ceramic coating of the glass roof, trunk and windows.

Thoughts?

They were shown in another post on the forum (can't remember where but maybe the OP can give a review). I don't have my car yet so I can't give you my personal review but when I saw them at $10 ($9.99 two days ago but I see they raised the price already to $12.50) I figured I wanted a set for the frunk and any other project I try on the Mach E or my other cars. They look very useful at a great price.

They aren't like the frunk divider, they're permanent rivets - see here: https://www.macheforum.com/site/threads/how-to-remove-front-license-plate-bracket.3954/
Sorry, I didn't see this. Where did they get the plastic screws after the rivets were drilled out? Most of the other fasteners found in cars would be easy to remove with the tools however. Not just the plastic rivets either as shown with the product. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01L8GHB7O/ref=cm_sw_em_r_mt_dp_CJCTREYCKGSCK4709RYW?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

Day 3 at PPF installer and my FordPass says it’s in Deep sleep mode and I need to manually start to deactivate the mode. It shows 87% charge. I am assuming it’s going to be OK . May take another two days to finish. I might have to tell the installer to plug a charger in.

its normal, mine has done the same and I asked my installer to check it, the 12 volt battery was at 100%, he started it manually and it leaved deep sleep mode.

I got a quote for a PPF install locally and he mentioned something about having to take the logo off and reattach it or get a new one. I wasnt too happy to hear that since this is a brand new vehicle and spare parts may be hard to come by just yet. Can anyone confirm if the XPEL template has a cutout for the pony upfront ? Really curious if anyone heard otherwise.

It has a cutout for the logo, so no need to remove it. I'll try to get some pictures of my front-end install via XPEL templates this afternoon.

Thanks for confirming that. Pictures would be awesome. I will be talking to the installer as well once I do get my Mach-E delivered. Expected sometime between now and next week unless there are more delays.

Deep sleep mode is to prevent additional drain for background activities. There's no need to plug it in if your at 87% unless you're worried about dropping below 84%?
