Panoramic roof is not IRR.

First photo is windshield in lower left shows IRR. Second photo is of panoramic roof, No markings. I started this yesterday wondering why my pano roof is hotter then the windshield at the same sun angle. 10 degrees hotter.

Thanks. I didn't know this. I will check mine when I get it back from the shop later today. Looks like the windshield is at 70% of the light and the pano roof is at 6% transparency, maybe that's why it doesn't have the IRR coating, because its being reflected by whatever is in the laminate?

IRR was a specs per ford. They owe us for misrepresentation. I'm sure they will chalk it it to a mistake. I purchased the MME because of the IRR roof !!!

Are you sure there is a legal requirement that it has to be stated on the label? Is anyone familiar with the DOT code? I would honestly be surprised if IRR is something they control.

Yes , all glass needs to be specific on all attributes. That's why its on the front windshield.

I believe the vagueness of the brochure about this has been discussed here before. It now seems the word "with" should be changed to "and an."

It will be interesting to see if you can find documentation that Ford promised can IRR roof. I recall Ford very clearly stated the roof was low-emissivity glass.

At best. it is still confusing !!! There was a panoramic roof line and a windshield line on older brochure.
And Ford choose to put the IRR on the pano line. more confusing, misleading and misrepresented.
I guess that's enough of beating a Dread Horse !!! Nothing will come of it. They will chalk it up to Editorial mistake !!!!

Just started reading this thread so excuse me if this had been addressed/answered.

Does the pano roof block harmful UV (ie, sunburn) radiation? I don't mind the light and I think it will sufficiently keep the cabin temps OK, but don't want to burn the top of my head!

As an aside, wondering if the driver/passenger windows (mine will be Premium trim AWD) will also block harmful UVA/UVB rays.

I doubled checked the order guides and it does say the panoramic roof with IRR windshield. I guessing it must be easier to add it to the windshield since they must be laminated by law. However, the raw glass itself for the panoramic roof may be blended with additives to reduce heat transfer/emissions that would be unacceptable to use on the windshield due to tint/clarity.

I far as I can tell, If only offers some tint quality's. I will be applying Llumar Statos tint tomorrow.
