While this could be a design problem, it hasn't affected most owners. Instead, it is more likely that it is an installation problem just like the wind noise issue.

The glass roof is nice. Lots of opinions here about it, so I will give you some facts:
- Ford uses a glass roof on many models. Durability is a 0% issue.
- The roof is slightly proud (higher front edge) of the windshield by design. This is similar to other Ford products. Unfortunately, in some vehicles, the dimensions are such that they create an air flow harmonic with the glass roof at some speeds, which people report as "wind noise". Some people have eliminated the harmonic condition by filling the gap with a small seal.
- The roof has IR filtering, which helps in sunny areas.

Either way Ford OWNS this issue and should step up and at least fix it for those who experience it, rather than deny responsibility. Just my opinion...

'Designing' a glass roof with a leading edge that sticks up above the windshield (hello rocks and road debris!) is suspect at least, dumb at worst. And maybe it causes some turbulence (noise) in the wind tunnel testing??

I am no engineer so, again, just my opinion.

Update: Finally replaced my glass roof after the dealer having the car for 41 days. Install of the roof looked good, no major gaps or interior road noise. So I am happy about that. But then I look in the trunk area....

They had scratched up both sides of the trunk area. Service associate claimed they didn't do that. I told him you have had the car longer than I have, and have never put anything in the back of the car besides a grocery bag. So the service manager came out and inspected the car and claimed that they were very "fresh" scrapes and told the service associate to order replacement parts. Still waiting for the parts to come in.

Yikes, seals and fitment of the pano to the car are substandard. Reason why I and a few others refused our cars. Seems like a glaring defect. Nothing should be able to hit the edge of the glass.

30 days = lemon law.. Folks don't be afraid to use the clause, OEM's won't hesitate to deny you.

Thought about that, I believe the dealer would gladly do that because they could resell the car for more, also it would be difficult to get another FE in grabber blue. After much work Ford agreed to pay for the time they had the car.
