Is the styrofoam glued down or can you just lift it out?

There are two small plastic nuts with slots on top. I unscrewed them and after removal I shoved them back on the studs for safety.

That does have a better picture than the article.
$60 starting price... seems a bit high for used. What's it new from Ford's parts catalog?
$45, but the ADM is $500 and climbing. The chip shortage puts delivery out past February '22. Mine, you can have now. Shipping is included BTW.

None at all. It is a styrofoam container to hold the items in place under the floor. It has no sound absorption properties however that is not the issue. There is very little noise down in the area below that floor moveable panel. I tested this with my spectrum analyzer/db meter while I was sound deadening the interior. I take readings before and after in different areas to see what makes the biggest difference. The SPL readings I took before and after sound deadening all of the metal below the hard carpet liner with Dynamat and Dynaliner was just over a 1 db difference, almost negligible. I was surprised as this is one of the areas that are typically very noisy in an ICE car. It made a huge difference sound deadening this area in my GT500.

After I deadened both wheel well/rear quarter panels, that made a pretty good difference I remember of somewhere around 4-5 db. There are a couple of other members I have been in contact with here that have also added a sub in that area and also sound deadened that lower cargo area with very little to no noticeable difference. There just is very little noise below that area to begin with so if your are interested in making the cargo area quieter, deaden the wheel well/rear quarter panel areas.
Basically my only complaint with my wonderful MME is road noise that I attribute to the OEM Michelin tires. Would deadening the front and rear wheel wells/quarter panels help with this? And if so, what would I use? This is all new to me. And I have yet to find a replacement tire that I'd trust spending the money on to try and quieten my ride.

In my Fusion Hybrid the stylofoam block holds the air pump (tire mobility kit) and car jack. The unique detail is that it is shaped exactly like the space to hold a spare tire

Yes you are right about the tires. While they aren't the noisiest tires out there, they aren't the quietest either. The issue with any XL (extra load range) tire is they are noisier than standard tires because of how they are made with the extra stiff reinforcement. Manufactures are aware of this and in many of the XL range tires, they have added foam to the inside of the tire to quite them down. Many Tesla's have tires with sound deadening like Continental Conti-Silent and Michelin Acoustic tires. The only Mach-E to have acoustically quieter tires is the GT/PE which have Pirelli P-Zero Elect PNCS (Pirelli Noise Cancelling System) tires. When I changed out the tires on my Mach-E for larger ones I looked for this but Michelin did not have an acoustic tire in the size I wanted.

Since most the noise does come from the tires, it would be a good idea to try to get quieter tires if you are after less road noise. Next could sound deaden all four wheel wells but the rear is more important since the front wheel wheels are really not part of the interior of the car like the rears are. Also deadening the doors is good too a lot of the road noise comes through those doors. Again, the Mach-E is very well insulated from noise as it is so quieter tires would probably be your best bet.

I use products like Dynamat (rubber butyl type material) that is sticky on one side and has foil on the other. This will deaden all metal panels to a low thud when tapped and is a good insulator of temperature too. Then on top of that I apply Dynaliner (1/4" closed cell foam) to reduce certain frequencies and it will make a door interior or wheel well very dead sounding (no echo). There are many manufactures that make similar products so not like you need to get either of these two.

I normally take photos while I am deadening a car but actually took very few of the Mach-E. Kind of done taking photos as I work now. In the first photo below is the cargo area. After removing the hard carpet liner, it was all bare metal. I applied Dynamat on most of the metal areas then on top of it, the Dynaliner foam. I usually apply slightly larger pieces of the foam so that is why you don't really see the Dynamat material because it is underneath. I would normally do this on the floor and roof of the car but it is not necessary on the Mach-E (unless you don't have a glass roof). Did the same thing in the rear quarter panels and all four doors. The second photo shows the full hard plastic window regulator that does a decent job of sealing out noise from the outer door skin. I still took it off and lined the entire inner side of the outer door skin.

$60 for a "like new" piece of specially molded styrofoam is a tremendous bargain compared to buying it from a dealer for $307.57.

Apparently my wife and I have ears which cannot detect these noisy tires. During last week's 1,200 2-day drive, we noticed wind noise near the right front of the body compartment, nothing else.

HOLY MOLY. $307 for what we throw away when we get a coffee maker. At those prices they could give the cars away and just sell parts.

when the first-generation Energi chargers were recalled and replaced (there was an overheating hazard, IIRC), the new chargers had a different shape. The replacement chargers included replacement foam inserts for the trunk to fit the new charger. That was, I thought, a nice touch. :)

YOU’RE GOING TO BE IN BIG TROUBLE!
You’re not allowed to take that out!
You probably pull the tags off of mattresses. ?
I spent time in prison for removing my mattress tags.
