Phase 1 complete. I went with Plasti dip Gloss Black on my 2021 MME Grabber Blue FE. It turned out amazing, especially with the red calipers. Highly recommend!!

Ok, I have to admit that my first reaction to the thread title was literally, “Oh God, No.”

I’m actually impressed though.

Gotta say, I think it looks pretty good as well! I know folks plasti-dip wheels all the time. How long does it hold up?

I'm still holding out hope that I can get the GT Performance wheels on my FE at some point. I absolutely love them.

So you made your First Edition look like a California Route 1...!

Looks great.

Are the lugs done as well? Do they get damaged if you go in for a tire rotation, etc?

It should last a long time, so long as you don"t rub a curb. But also that can just be touched up. The company could also paint the rims in a permeant automotive high gloss black paint for $300. But I like that if I wanted to go back to original the Plasti Dip just peels off.

I plasti dipped my wheels on a previous car. In my case, I had to touch them up once a year. It would probably look "ok" for 2-3 years if you did nothing and took care not to scratch them.
