It isn't. If anything it helps put things into perspective. And maybe Ford will pay more attention to the fact that there are a lot of people stuck on old software updates and they need to do something about it.

Sorry if this is a little gratuitous - but I'm feeling bitter stuck on 3.5.4 as an EA participant, and I wonder just how bitter I should be...
I thought I saw somewhere that cars sometimes got “stuck” on updates and if you took your car to a dealer and had them update the modules through FDRS, that would “unjam” whatever’s going on?

I'm a no with no EA. However, as eager as I am for the UI updates, I am not a proponent of rushing out software half baked either. Yes, I know; essentially no such thing as bug free software no matter how carefully executed or how much software experience is behind it. But rushing code to market all but guarantees you will have bugs.

Rushed? This software has been in production cars for months.

Slow rollout does NOT equal less bugs.

A solid development methodology and strong QA at the development stage reduces bugs.

as an example, what bugs am I being protected from by not having a frunk button on a job1 21?

😂 Fair enough. I had not really thought about how long they have already been working on it.

I officially retract my state. Head! Update! Now!

and there should be a "No and I care a lot" option

The thread announcing the OTA resumption has had >35K views in 2 weeks. Seems like a high level of interest.
The release does have a few features that should be quite useful (camera button, knob controlling temp selection, ford nav route planning that does use elevation change). But I don't need any of them. I'd trade the OTAs for a new HVJB that was robust.

I had to do this to go from 2.7.4 to 3.6.1. I hope I'm not stuck again.

True, but EA owners opted in to get these updates first and accept the risks, so it's frustrating that some of us are multiple versions behind on updates.

I think the bug is in the OTA deployment. The connected services team opened a case for me and told me to go to the dealership. Last I checked, 4.1.2 isn't available for me in FDRS, but a number of updates are available and hopefully one of them will get me unstuck. Very annoying. Earliest appointment is this coming Monday.

So frustrating! Why won't they let me into EA?

Im on 3.6.1. didn't occur to me that I might be "stuck"

Only thing I don't have on my '23 is the quick access to the camera on the top bar, so I'm guessing I've got 4.1.1? Or something like that since I can change temp/seat/fan with the volume knob and have the frunk/trunk button on the option screen but to get to the camera I still have to go through the options screen.
