I know the lighting is advertised to have this capability. Has anyone done it with the electric pony?

Yes people have done it by connecting an inverter, but the amount of power available is very limited (less than 1500W), really only enough to run a fridge, some lights, and a couple other things with extreme care so as not to overload the converter/inverter. I would say the minimum you need for a whole house backup is 3000W. Some peoples' houses have a 1500W idle load which is more than it can handle. A portable gas generator would be a much better investment if you're concerned about powering your house during an outage. Order a F150 Lightning if you want to do the electric backup power thing properly, doing this to a Mach-E may void your warranty since it is not an approved use or something the charging system was ever designed for.
