I have used preferred charging times for at home use successfully for the last several months, now I can't get the app to save my settings. There was a software update yesterday.... Any ideas? Thanks!!!

Charge 5 minutes. Unplug. Save location, set charging hours.

Your saved charge locations were erased by the update. Those are needed to set a charge schedule and % limits.

In order to save a charge location, you must charge there first. Kinda crazy but that is how this car works. Just a few minutes of charging is usually enough for the car to register that location in its memory and then you can name it and then have access to set a schedule etc.

I have read multiple posts regarding charging, charge settings, charging outside of preferred settings, setting departure times, etc. I see posts that go back to 2020. I think you are all using the system correctly. Problem is that Ford programmers have NO CLUE what they are doing. My MME will charge beyond the 80% preferred limit when charging outside of the preferred charge times - which are weekdays only. In contrast, departure times can be scheduled for any day. I asked a representative how the settings handle transitions from Sunday to Monday but she could not explain fully. Sometimes departure times prepare the cabin and battery, but other times does not. The representative was very nice and invited me to submit an email which she would forward inside Ford. One recommendation is to allow users, like us, to create preferred charge settings for every day of the week, instead of limiting to weekdays. Then users could create their own time blocks and the percent charge level for each time frame. I'll say it again...as a retired IT professional...Ford programmers have NO CLUE what they are doing. Probably sounds harsh, but we can't all be using the system incorrectly. The system is flawed.

Not sure what you mean here. The charging schedule allows for separate weekday and weekend settings so any day of the week that my car is plugged in, it charges according to my schedule.

I also initially thought the charge settings were for every day, particularly because the menu sets the hours only not hours by day, so the charge windows should apply for every day. However, select the charge time information tag to see an explanation. A caution symbol is at the top, followed by this statement "By default, your vehicle will charge whenever it's plugged in. Setting up preferred charge times, however, will help you enable you (redundant) to charge your vehicle at the most cost-efficient times. You can set up to two windows of time for your WEEKDAY Charge Times."

Now, this statement does not explicitly state that the preferred charge settings apply only to weekdays, but the informational statement certainly implies that. The statement does not explicitly exclude weekends, but then I have to ask "Why would Ford specifically state two WEEKDAY time windows if the settings apply to every day? Additionally, the settings are set on the hour - without any day settings, and if they applied to every day, the informational statement would create even more confusion by referencing WEEKDAY when the settings apply to every day.

Sorry for being overly inclusive, but there is a lot of room for confusion and why I say that the Ford programmers have no clue. I'm open to, and actually hopeful for, a counter interpretation. I want to understand the settings and make them work for me.

The App has been flaky in my experience. I set preferred charge times initially via the App and all was fine. But then updates via the App would never stick - had to make the changes in the car. Subsequent changes *sometimes* stick (like one I made yesterday) but for me it's been hit or miss, even though the App claims the changes have been saved.

I'm guessing behind the scenes there are at least two web service calls being made - one to persist the changes you made via the App, then a second to take those changes and send them to the car. So it's possible the "Saved Successfully" message in the App is just Step 1, but then Step 2 fails. Who knows - either way changes via the App are a bit unreliable.

I've not had any issues programming the charge levels/times and departure times. I did initially in car, but settings are reflected in the APP as well. I have work and home scheduled:
Home 80%: weeknights 11pm-9am. Weekends anytime. Departure 7am
Work 95%(its free): weekdays/weekends anytime. Departure 6pm

Note: Departure pre-conditioning only work if you are on-plug. I typically only plug in at home if needed, might lower it to 50% when I plug in more regularly during winter for pre-conditioning.

Important qualification after speaking to a Ford charging support representative. The information tag I reference probably applies only to the Ford Connected Charge Station, not to the Ford mobile charger which comes standard with the vehicle. So Nashbrydges is probably correct, i.e. the charge settings apply for each day of the week unless your charger allows the options to configure for weekdays.
