The plan they proposed to the WH involves building new versions of the Supercharger that include CCS cables.
That doesn’t help much if all of the now available Superchargers are not retrofitted with the CCS cables. The network they have now will still only be available for Teslas to use and it will take time to build the new ones.

Makes sense but not great news for us. They of course are only doing it on new chargers to get money from the government.

i Guess that means all new chargers from EA etc that want government Kinney have to have Tesla connectors also?

I might add that cape cod has only 1 non Tesla fast charger and I think that is only 50kw In Hyannis

tesla has multiple SC‘s around the cape
Which is why I’m there now without my MME. Haven’t installed any sort of charging capabilities yet at our place though there level 2 chargers around town I’m told. And I need to install a bike rack before I bring it here, but I’m digressing. Would be great to some additional universal charging in these parts.

I stayed in Sandwhich and one of the stop and Shops had a free level 2 Charger. The 50KW charger at dicks in cape cod mall was the closest to me, 14 miles each way. Have to use 28 miles to get a modestly fast fill up. Not good

From Minnesota going west in I-94 at best there are 50kw chargers and not many, so Tesla opening up their network will make an electric road trip much more practical.
I'm in southeast MN and it's awful around here. There's one EA site in Albert Lea, has been "1 of 4 working" for the past month, the ZEF site across the highway has been dead for months according to plugshare... if the gas station at the casino just across the border in Iowa on I-35 didn't have a Chargepoint DCFC, I'd have been stranded at my destination for a day.

Between the Ikea plans and this Tesla situation, I think it would solve a lot of issues in my region.

As a mach-e owner, someone who isn't a fan of elon musk (but I respect him and understand he is aware of his antics and how they are good for business), someone who thinks all teslas look like eggs ... i could go on and on.

I am happy to hear this. If we could tap into their supercharger network i am going to be one happy camper.
All Tesla’s look like a version of the Prius to me. Model X especially! I understand drag requires a certain shape for efficiency but come on!

I know exactly where you are talking about as I travel from IA to MSP to visit family. I fill up at the casino cuz the ZEF site is crap. I’m shocked the Twin Cities doesn’t have more DCFC sites, so looking forward to the IKEA plan. BTW, where is the other EA site in Albert Lea?

It’s behind a Casey’s about 2 miles off the interstate - same exit as the ZEF one, just the other direction.

Tesla unveiled (leaked?) on their app that they’re going to offer charging for non-Tesla EVs at a monthly subscription fee of $0.99/mo.
Can we please fix the title of this? Tesla "announced" nothing. Nothing is "published", even within the context of Elon's whims and fantasies he posts on twitter.

It wasn't me. Someone changed the title after I posted it.

Possibly the admin merged it with another thread and the title came from the merge. Still, if the site recognizes you as the OP, you should have a control button to edit the thread title?

Huh. @Administrator can you fix the title? I came expecting actual information.... this is less than unconfirmed rumor.
To be clear though, this wasn’t a Twitter post. It’s an option on the Tesla app but they pulled the pricing.
