Price Protection Refund Tracking - Add Your Status

I thought I’ll create a thread for those that did not receive a price protection (ordered before dec 8, 2021) at the time of the delivery and was told it will come after Ford sends dealer the refund. If you received a check later, please feel free to share how long it took after delivery to receive it. This should help those that are waiting and get a good idea how long Ford is taking to refund the dealer.

I took delivery 07/06/22 and received refund on 10/24/22. About 110 days and looks like on average its about 3 months to receive your price protection refund based on date collected below.

Coming over from the Lightning forum as this keeps being referenced as the process for our Price Protection as well. What were your conversations like with the dealer? Mine acknowledges the price hike after my order was placed but claims there's nothing in Smart Vincent that would indicate I have price protection for my order. He signed a makeshift contract stating he'd pay me the refund IF he ever receives it from Ford. Dealer's belief is that he'll never get a rebate and won't allow me to order against the original invoice as he says he'll be out 5 grand. To be honest I think they're dating the sale after the price hike so they don't have to float the 5K for the rebate and are instead looking to pocket the $5K as a makeshift ADM. Everyone I talked to at Ford has told me I am protected to the price I ordered at, and the dealer will be reimbursed 45-60 days after sale. Is there zero accountability for dealers here? They just blindly ignore Ford's guidance for Price Protection? Is it as simple as watching over the dealer's shoulder in Smart Vincent and making sure they select "Incentive Based On: Protection Date" to get the Price Protection?

My truck is sitting in the dealer's lot until they can tell me I'll get my $5K one way or another.

Day 52... nothing from dealer or Ford.
edit: Day 80. Dealer got huffy, blamed Ford, when I inquired around day 73. Still waiting.

I am sorry you are going through this mine took 90+ days and only after I raised a ruckus did I get a check in the next few days. Your dealer can cut you a check it's just if they are willing to or not.

bought the Hi5 last spring. waited 9 more months for MME to be delivered. I bought the MME due to fed tax credit and Ford's promise to honor price protection, and gave it to my daughter. I favor the Hi5; she favors the MME.
ps another forum user who used the same dealer as I, says they have not provided the price protection refund in more than six months of waiting. I am not as patient as he seems to be. After all they had a $1500 deposit from me for 52 weeks before it was applied to my purchase, now they're making me wait another couple months for the $2000 over charge refund. No way to win crossover customers.

Where in SoCal are you? I grew up in the Bay Area, college in Santa Barbara. Ran track and XC through the SoCal area. Big enough to be its own state, but I'm not advocating.

Hi, I took delivery of my MME 7/12 and have not received my check yet. Every time I ping my dealer he tells me Ford has not paid any reimbursements to them in months.

Dealer: Autonation Ford Tustin

At long last I finally received my check in the mail today. I had to turn up the heat on the Sales Manager, whereupon suddenly "the price protection payments had come in at the end of December and they've been working on getting them out to customers this week." Who knows if that's true or not--at least he overnighted my check to me. You can update the table with my info.

I’m going through the same bs you went through at the same dealer in Issaquah WA (Evergreen Ford Lincoln) it’s been over 100 days since taking delivery and they are telling me I have to wait for my check directly from Ford and that they can’t do anything about it.

I am sorry you are going through this. They should have had plenty of time to get the refund from Ford. Who are you dealing with? I emailed, and called the general manager and left voicemails.

Don't let them off the hook stay persistent. The dealership is the one that cuts you the check not Ford. Ford gives the funds to the dealership and I am sure they have the money already. I had actually filed a complaint with Attorney General which might be why I got the check. Maybe just tell them you are going to do the same. What I truly don't like about this dealership is the lies.

So far I’ve only talked to the sales manager and sales guy (Justin) I will ask to talk to the general manager when I go pick up my car from service. Do you happen to have a picture of the check they gave you to show them I know someone who went through the same thing I’m going through and maybe speed up the process? I’ve had a horrible experience dealing with them.

I ask to talk to Tom Noe or Trevor Fawcett to investigate or the office manager Kristen.
They all avoided me as much as possible and was only able to talk to the sales guy who I'm sure is trained to brush people off.

What are you getting serviced there? I have been considering finding a different dealer for service since I am so unhappy with the dealer
