Farley gave a live interview on GMA3 today from the construction site. Claimed the new truck will have the computing power of the Space Station, among other bold statements about carbon neutrality and future EV models. Rally cry is "EV or Bust".

Sounds like Ford is doing all the right things to expand the EV side. Pretty exciting.

With volume increase the manufacturing cost of a single car will go down.
That is why they are trying so hard to catch a momentum while they still can

That is actually not that far from truth. Mercedes has already certified their L3 autopilot. And it is exactly the level you need to be able to sleep while the car is driving on the freeway. Forget about Musk and Tesla

Yes and no.

When materials are scarce and workers hard to find, an increase in manufacturing can actually INCREASE costs.

We are seeing that now.

Higher volume doesnā€™t necessarily fix the cost issue.

Volume discounts arenā€™t what they used to be. Some material and labor costs just are what they are.

In relation to EVs - it is the case because huge investments go to R&D now. Only volumes can pay them off

Do people actually pronounce lightning like they're spelling it somewhere in the country? (e.g. light-en-ing)
