It would appear that the FP 3.35.0 app breaks PaaK completely on Android 12, at least for some if not many people, by invalidating the security key used to authenticate/communicate with the car.

I am stranded at work because the backup password screen on the car won't appear either. So I'll be taking an uber home and back (50 miles) just to get a key. Pretty pissed off. So don't let this happen to you. Do not update!

Edit: Reviews are starting to hit the play store where other people are stranded with the same issue

Edit #2: I've revised the title because some people haven't had issue, while others have. I think the best course of action for anyone who uses PaaK without a FOB would be to ensure you have a FOB with you when updating the FP app. This still doesn't explain why the passcode wouldn't work.

TLDR: READ THE BELOW IMPORTANT MESSAGE:

If you are on FP Android version 3.34.0 DO NOT UPDATE TO 3.35.0. Wait until you see 3.35.2 available in the play store, which has been pushed for deployment.

If you updated to 3.35.0 and HAVE issues you have 2 options, reset PaaK and it will work again or wait for 3.35.2 and then reset PaaK and it will work again. See the below if you reset PaaK with 3.35.0

If you updated to 3.35.0 and it works fine OR if you reset PaaK WHILE ON 3.35.0, do not update to 3.35.2 or it WILL break PaaK. Turn off auto updates for the FP app to prevent this from happening.

It broke PaaK on my Galaxy Note 8 running Android 9 also. Fortunately while I was out the password screen worked. Just now I was trying to get PaaK to work in my garage and the PW screen would not appear. :mad::mad::mad: @Ford Motor Company please pass the bad news on to the FordPass team.

it's too late now but you couldn't get the password screen to appear even with the phone off and pressing Start a few times?

I just updated a little while ago. Guess I'll go test out PaaK in a few to see what happens.

it's too late now but you couldn't get the password screen to appear even with the phone off and pressing Start a few times?
I didn't try turning the phone off, but I pressed the Start button several times. It wouldn't bring up the PW screen, and the Sync screen would not turn off. Sync was displaying as if it was in accessory mode.

Not too late yet. I'm talking to Ford. But yes I tried a number of times and nothing comes up. Started it via FP, locked it, unlocked it, used backup door code etc. Nothing gets the backup screen to appear.

I just tested and same thing. No prompt in any circumstances which is a new one for me.

This is the first time I have seen this level of failure. Very bad.

It took a little while to get the car to wake up, but after a few presses on the driver's door button PAAK worked fine after the 3.35.0 update on my iPhone with iOS 15.1

Just got off the phone with Ford and they told me that there's nothing that they can do and since the car is not in a "dangerous" situation that Roadside will not assist either.

If @Ford Motor Company wants to look at my case number it's CAS34322266

Basically I was just told by Ford that I'm on my own and "oh well". Then they told me that they hope I have a wonderful day ... how nice!

It's definitely Bluetooth related (shows Disconnected in the app). But that doesn't help you right now.

I hope @Ford Motor Company does something here for you, at least reimburse for the Uber or something.

Yeah I tried restarting the phone, manually connecting to PaaK (in BT) etc and nothing works. It just will not connect to the PaaK Bluetooth service.
