Radar finally “kinda” working with GPS

Thought the wisdom of this forum, I moved my escort passport max nearer to the black area of the windscreen, after several trial and errors (placing it right on the black spot did not work) this finally worked... at least gps does, however I just drove by a police on the highway and didn’t get an alert... so I’m now wondering if the iR layer on the windshield kills radar reception as well ?
