Please get closeups of the handles on each one as that will let us know the approximate age of these units. They are probably the original hand-built prototypes sent over for auto shows, etc., but there could be a newer one that is used for driving demos.
Already thought you wanted to know that so I made some close-ups from the handles for you ;)

Couldn’t get both of the cars on 1 picture but here’s a closeup of the handle

EDIT: forum is auto rotating it and can’t get it correct.

Those are both final or near-final pre-production units built in Cuautitlan, not the prototype seen in the Mach-in-a-box tour. That means they are drivable units. Do you see the keys anywhere? ?

This sounds great. Can you explain the significance of or difference between drivable units from these versus drivability of the prototypes?

We're not exactly sure about differences among units. However, they have clearly treated some very tenderly while used others on test tracks. Others were test mules with intentionally mis-matched body colors, primarily black and white.

The prototypes, which all had winglet door handles, were hand-built.

The pre-production units were still a sort of prototype but were assembled in Cuautitlan. These are drivable units with many of them being used for engineering testing and may have seen quite a few miles by now.

Early pre-production units were similar to the hand-built prototypes and had winglet door handles. Later ones became more and more similar to the production models as they made final tweaks and as they moved all the big robotic tools from Dearborn to Cuautitlan. The final pre-production units are probably exactly like our cars and are used to tweak and practice on the assembly line rather than modifying the car.

Thank you. You and Hybridrev are my resident experts. Well, there are a lot of thoughtful and knowledgeable members.

I'm confused. The picture shown is the newer version and is a winglet design.

No, the winglets are only attached to the car at the front. These are the "trough" style. It is attached to the body from front to back and slopes down from front to back inside the trough so water will flow out the back.

Those are pp phase 2 vehicles. had to be built within the last 3 weeks. handles are the give away.

Oh. When I hear winglet I think of this:

which to me is what the newer style looks like. The older style looks like:

I recall winglet was the term Ford used for the original style. I could be wrong, though. I see the resemblance between the new style and the airplane winglet as well.

They had two generations of those early "winglets", followed by the "trough" that will likely be on our cars.

Here's the original:
Ford Mustang Mach-E RAPID RED METALLIC Mach-E Club 1585319498071

You can see it is only connected at the front.

This is the later, strengthened style but still only connected at the front.
Ford Mustang Mach-E RAPID RED METALLIC Mach-E Club old door handle

While the photo doesn't directly show it is only connected at the front, you can see that in the shadow below.

Here are two shots of the trough style that seems to be what we will get:
