I bought a 2021 Mach-e GT just over a week ago. Notice I'm getting closer to 190-210 miles, estimated by determining how many miles made on a charge percentage then extrapolated out to 100%. It's been in the 40s here so perhaps that's part of it. This car only has ~12k miles on it.

I had the car in Whisper mode and adaptive cruise control set to 79. 1 strong pull on the first on ramp but that was it. I know I would never see the full 270 but figure it'd be more like 230-240. I assume this isnt too crazy or is it way out of spec? I do acknowledge cold can hurt efficiency though I wouldn't think 40s is that bad. January may be rough when we get negative.

Thankfully I don't do a ton of mileage day to day, but it'd still be nice to know it's there when needed.

In January you're only going to see like 150 miles tops if you park outside...

40-50% range loss in the winter here.

Haha! Join the club!

Every day’s a school day?

Remember, car’s made my the motor trade who always have been allowed to deceive by using this standard or other to [mis]represent ICE fuel economy and now EV range??‍♂

Then we get down to it, mine “could” achieve 379 miles or so I was told by the puff, stuff & nonsense used to sell it to me in the first place.

I can’t imagine any climate in any country on earth where my car ever even when new could achieve that sort of range in anything anywhere near real world driving, even just tickling it along.

When new I was lucky to get 325 in best ambient conditions & weather. 230 in colder winter weather.

Range hasn’t really changed since new 29mths & 70,000 miles ago.

Obviously varies with weather, extra hot or cold hits range.

Your driving style affects range and car learns that and adjusts displayed range as it does so.

You could try clearing driving data on the screen and you’ll get a nice surprise on displayed range until you’re 10miles down the road and it starts to revert to realty but it may clear previous owner’s driving style data which may affect displayed range.

Otherwise your range sounds about right to me compared with that [mis]represented?

I am a realist and expect such variance from what is promised and wouldn’t be without this beautiful car?

Thanks guys, figured that's the case. The good thing is it could go down to 50 miles range and I'd still be OK day to day hahaha!

It really is a roller coaster on wheels. Loving it so far. Did a 145 mi each way trip this weekend. Left home with 91% (poor planning meant to top off the full 100%) got to 30% in about 115 miles. Charged up at about 72 kWh, came out to about 40 minutes to get to 80%. Did the last 30 mi plus some hooning around with my cousin who had to drive it naturally. Drove 30 miles back to same charger we used on the way up, was already back to 35%. Topped off 80% and drove 115 mi back and ended up home with 25% or 50 mi and my first low battery alert as God intended ?

Charging 32A with the mobile charger at home on our level 2 (NEMA 15-50 50A breaker). I want to pick up a 40A wall mount charger so I can keep the mobile in the frunk for emergencies.

Ah, yes, speed don’t help.

Was running short of the safety margin on way home one day so slowed from ~70mph to 60mph and displayed range started increasing?

The first owners probably kick the hell out of it with the history miles your noting. Reset history on trips to clear out old and soon your new miles will increase. Had the exact problem which was the dealer salesman racing our new GTPE on weekend. Picked car up indicatibg 200 mile at 100pct. Found out that 1.5kwh on trip told the story. Aftercresettingctrip history summer avg 260 to 285 at 100pct. 3.0 to 3.5 at 65 mph highway ac on. Going faster drops 2.7 to 3kwh. Mostly drive local under 50 run 3.5 to 4,5kwh. Good luck.

Drag is proportional to speed squared, so 79 MPH is 48% more drag than 65 MPH. If you are short on range, remember to slow down because it makes a HUGE difference.
G9tcha, thanks for the great info. Been lurking the forums for a couple weeks now. First thing I did was reset the history. I'm honestly content with the range. Sure more would be nice but I do long trips like once a year so, not the end of the world and it was great using the Blue Oval service.

I am still adapting to the stiffer ride. I did test drive the GTPE and it was smoother but I didn't feel like it was night and day, then again these test drives aren't exactly long either. It came down to the GT having a better interior imo and more comfy seats compared to the Star Trek Enterprise buckets. I imagine going to 18" rims for when I get winter tires may smooth some things out too? I know some thread a also talk about the KW coilovers, not sure I'm there yet. It's not terrible like my RalliArt ofc but not as smooth as my BMW.

Also79 is not efficient at all. Even 70 isnt that great but isn’t as bad at 79 Or even 75.

Speed matters, hard acceleration matters, driving behavior matters…

I have a 23 GTPE in Michigan . What I do is
Precondition it every morning . It’s plugged in to my level 2 . It not only precondition the inside but also the battery . I drive to multiple different hospitals . I never exceed 70 and always have cruise and blue cruise . I average 3.1mikes per khw. I set the temp inside the car at 74 and it’s comfy for me . Obviously if I drive on the sportiest setting that number drops . When the temp was 24 degrees F I was averaging 240 at 90 % charge . It’s a fantastic EV . Gives me the same thrills as my M5 comp but more quite after a long day . Hope that helps
