I did silicone plate holder and bracket from advance auto. Now not touching bumper. Thanks for all the suggestions.

Well be awaiting your feedback on this
Hey here are two pics with it installed in the back. I honestly don't really see what the problem would have been without the silicone frame to be honest, I feel like it would have fit properly.

Anyway, I am keeping them on and I think it matches the Rapid Red well enough.

I left the black stock license plate frame in the front because I didn't want to mess with it.

Just arrived from Amazon.

5 minute easy install for each FE. One has a line where the plate was. Hopefully it can be buffed out.

I have a WeatherTech frame. I had it on my Sonata for 5 years and it worked well. I put it on the rear of the Mach-e and keeps it away from the body and the bumper.

StainlessFrame License Plate Frame
Manufactured in America from highly polished T-304 Stainless Steel, the StainlessFrame will surely make a statement on any car you own. The PlateSpacer gasket supports and keeps plate away from car body. Comes complete with Chrome Caps that hide the mounting hardware.
StainlessFrame License Plate Frame Features:
  • Solid Stainless Steel T-304 Mirror-Polished License Plate Frame
  • PlateSpacer gasket supports plate and frame away from car body
  • Attractive statement piece for virtually any vehicle
  • Chrome Caps to hide mounting hardware
Has anyone tried the ClearCover from WeatherTech? I've been using that on my car for years.
(Clear license plate acrylic lens cover with durable frame that protects license plates)

Thanks for the link to the Amazon part. I didnā€™t realize it was an issue until the forum started discussion. I ordered it.
The silicone plate covers for $7-10 are the most straightforward way to protect the finish.

I've had that since then with no issues.
