My local utility here in Arizona is the Salt River Project. They offer a $1000 rebate to electric vehicle purchasers. I applied for it, sending in the required application and copies of my purchase agreement and registration. I received an email back from them that my purchase agreement "indicates your new vehicle is a 2021 Ford Mustang. As a Ford Mustang is not an electric vehicle it does not qualify for the rebate." I sent them a scan of my window sticker, a cell phone photo of my car plugged into the wall in my garage, and a link to the Ford web site. I wrote that the Mustang Mach-E is, indeed, an electric vehicle.

I hope to hear their reply today. :)

-edit- See their reply, post #23 in this thread. All sorted.

Hopefully you'll set them straight before I send in the form for my rebate. ??

Weird.
SRP processed my rebate without issue. I hope they correct their error.

I wish my electric co-op offered any kind of rebates. Or even my state for that matter. They won't even help out with the EVSE purchase. To OPs point though, just point the electric company to the thousands of "nOt A mUsTaNg!" comments on social media. That should straighten things out

It's almost as if there isn't some way to instantly find out if "electric mustang" is a thing. Like, if you could have an electronic library of sorts, where you can... type your query? And then results will appear almost instantaneously - plus it'd be up-to-date information?

So…

The Mach-e is

1. Not a Mustang (ask the V8 lunatics) and also
2. Not an electric vehicle.

So just what is this thing we’re all driving???

Do keep us posted please.

I plan on applying for this too, so let us know if this gets resolved.

The major electric utility in the Philadelphia area is pleased to give you an “atta boy” for your purchase of an electric vehicle. You get more for purchasing a new refrigerator ? The state of Pennsyltucky doesn’t even give you the “atta boy” (remember, EVs steal jobs from the hard working fracking industry ?)

I had a problem when my dealer dmv rep listed the car as gas powered on some document. Found that out when trying to get my hov access decal. Two months and still waiting for the correction.

Good to hear. I think @macchiaz-o is an SRP rebate recipient also. Maybe @zhackwyatt too.
Yeah mine went through fine. I forgot to sign the tax form but they caught the error. After I resubmitted they processed it fine. It took a month or two though if I recall correctly.

Maybe the issue is OP's license plate: NOSTANG. ??

My utility co said, "Electric what? Car? No, we don't give rebates for those things."

Welcome to TN ?
Yeah, PG&E only has an obscure rebate for EVSE installation in my area. Nothing for the car.

You guys with your fancy utility rebates. Nothing for me, but Indiana "invites" me to pay them an extra $150 annually for having an electric vehicle.

I think Georgia is the only state with a higher EV fee.
