Certain 2021 Model Year Mustang Mach-E Vehicles - Software Calibration Update


Just been advised of a recall to “recalibrate the software”. Supposedly to address some charging/remote start issues. I’m hoping it also fixes my glitchy screen. If i sit in the car a while messing with the settings, when I restart the central screen doesn’t come on - have to do a reset.

I’ll give it a few days before I call my dealer to schedule the update.

Can you please post the recall number so it can be tracked? Would like to know if it is the same one that has been mentioned already. For the screen, have you tried reseting Sync4?

Yes. The reset always brings the screen back but then it fails again. Day to day use is fine. It’s just if you’re sat in the car playing around for a while - then it fails.

Ah, a supplement #1 -- they may have expanded the range of builds they want to update -- just a guess!

How can one determine if this update was already applied? Is there a corresponding version number etc that could be obtained in the vehicle settings?

Are you getting these updates through your Ford Pass App? If not, I do not understand why not. The APP has our VIN numbers and as soon as a recall is issued, should be pushed directly into the APP for our individual vehicles as they know when the affected vehicles rolled off the line.

Are these sort of updates to come OTA? I sure hope so. I hate having to go to the dealer for anything.

If it was OTA then I don’t think it would be a recall it would just be pushed over air maybe.

Recalls are pushed to your FordPass app. Our Raptor has one showing. This, however, is not a recall. It is a bulletin for Ford EV Repair Centers to comply with. If the problem turns out to be more widespread or persistent than believed, it'll become a recall.

The dealer should be plugging the cars into OASIS which is Ford's diagnostics system and doing all of the updates before delivery.
Yeah, I'm not 100% certain my dealer did (or knows to do) that, so curious if there's a way to tell from the settings screens...

It IS on their pre-delivery checklist, but I did mention it to them the day before I was going to take delivery. I don't think there is a way for us to tell from the car or app. You could ask them to see the OASIS report.
