Mustang vs Camaro, it's a rivalry that began decades ago and continues today. Ford surprised the world by leveraging the Mustang nameplate for the Mach-E; will GM also bring a from-the-ground-up electric crossover badged as a Camaro?

GM has a flexible EV platform due in 2021 that's set to underpin at least nine different vehicles. If GM wanted to follow Ford's lead and leverage the Camaro's name and looks for a sporty electric crossover of its own, it might look something like these renderings by Motor Trend, drawing upon the current Camaro's styling.

"What might Chevy call such a product? All we can do is speculate, but we think Camaro E/28 has a nice ring," adds Motor Trend.

It must be a boring day in the office. It looks like something that I would put together.

Not so sure GM will follow Ford into naming a CUV after their sport coupe.

Not to say they don't make a CUV but why not name it Malibu or better still something original.

If they were to reuse a brand, I think it would more likely be a Cadillac (probably similar to the XT4 or XT5).

On a separate note, I wish US would change regulations to allow for camera replacement of side mirrors. I like the cleaner look... plus it makes significant difference in wind resistance.
