I'm 3 days and about 500 miles into a 8 day Model 3 Performance rental with Full Self Driving (disabled because of some previous renters poor driving). I'm renting using Turo which so far has been great. We got our Mach-e GTP last October which was our second EV the first being a Hyundai Ionic. So this is from the perspective of EV driver that didn't start on Tesla.
So back home in Maryland I see a few Teslas on the road every day but not like here in the Pacific North West, they are everywhere! I thought the charging infrastructure would be better out here but I've found certain areas have no supercharger support at all. The owner supplied a level 2 adapter but that's worthless for my needs. So any DCFC other than Tesla I can't use . I'm really surprised at lack of superchargers, and they're not all super. rolled up on a couple where they are limited to around 72kW. I will admit it's plug and play and it just works so that's good. Our previous charging has been 99.9% home based so I have no other opinion on the matter.
Things I like: Dog mode is nice, theater while waiting for charge, wireless phone chargers, Tesla app or PAAK is great, in car UI except the nav. Other than the nav the UI is responsive and intuitive. Lane changing on auto pilot I will admit is a nice feature.
Things I hate: Model 3 Performance is so low that it grounds out on speed bumps, ferry ramps and well just about everything. Enhance AutoPilot (not FSD) in my opinion is not safe and really needs to be limited to freeways. I can't believe i'm saying that because I assumed it was way better than it actually is and was a little jealous my BlueCruse was limited to major freeways. It's unpredictable on roads with cross traffic and intersections. Phantom braking is real and it SUCKS. Granted i'm only a few days into using it but I'm making corrections probably every minute or so. I want an on/off button, car spent half a day running the A/C while parked just because... well I have no idea. Oh can't forget Give me a cluster in front of my face not to the side of it. Build Quality, yep all that I heard and didn't quite believe is kind of true with gaps and rattles and odd noises.
PERFORMANCE: It's not as good or just about the same. 0-60 feels a little less aggressive than the GTP. Power limitations at higher speeds feel about the same as the GTP - it's got jail bars, you just don't get to see them.
Gimmicky: fart sounds, light show, games ect... not a fan. I'm a little split on the visualization screen, I'm a geek and I think it's cool but what's it really doing for my driving experience? The turn signal camera view at night is overpowered by the red flashy light.
There are just some random thoughts I wanted to share, the wife and I both confirmed we are happy with the GTP and the grass isn't greener on the other side.
