Haven't experienced any actual rage in the 92k miles I've driven, and that's in Texas. Back when they were much rarer, I had a few people pull up beside me at a light and rev their engines - always either ICE mustangs or F-150s and I assume both took issue with the electric or mustang part - but that really hasn't been a thing in 3+ years now. Think they both figured out we're quicker than they are.
Austin has a lot of Mach Es

Never had anything but positive comments or questions. Just the other day I met up with a guy to sell something and he asked, "Is this what Mustangs look like now?" I smiled and said, "only the electric ones!"

Most people don't even know what you're driving and in any case, don't be swayed by some Internet tough guys who would never have the nerve to say it to your face.

As our greatest poet Taylor Swift once sang "Say it in a tweet, it's a cop out / Say it on the street, it's a knock out." (I have tween daughters, lol).

I’ve never had anybody say anything negative about my MME. I have gotten a few compliments and people asking “is that a Mustang?” Before the MME I drove a VW Jetta TDI. Got a few “you know that’s diesel you’re putting in there, right?”

Yes! This!

On both counts: I love the MME because it’s just a cool looking car. Most people I encounter don’t even know what drivetrain it uses. If they say anything, they say, “cool car.”

And there are jerks who hide on the internet.

Hate from a guy with a MAGA shirt on complaining me and my kind were driving up the electric prices. Note this was after the war in Iran raising prices of gasoline all over the country...

Another guy who had a bunch of muscle cars took it upon himself to come across the street to tell me my car wasn't a real mustang and was an abomination. I said that, I used to have an Explorer and with prices near me it would cost me $116 to fill it and gets about 250 miles a tank. I am getting 240 miles a charge and paying $7.10 to charge it. I could care less how much he was willing to pay for gas.

I’ve been back in the market for a MME and came across some folks saying they’ve been harassed because they have a MME. I’m not sure if that’s a one off situation or happens frequently enough to be noticeable.
I love the car but I also love being anonymous/incognito. On that note, I also will be sharing this car with my wife and daughter at times and definitely want to keep them from feeling uncomfortable while driving.

How have you guys felt in your MME ownership? Have you noticed an increase in unpleasant run-ins since you’ve switched to a MME?
All the time! Especially from Mustang non Mach E drivers. They constantly cut me off, or try to race, or rev their engines.

The only negative issue I have had is driving on the highway with rolling hills, with Adaptive Cruise on, and in Whisper mode. This causes the brake lights to randomly come on when going down hill and, understandably, cars behind me get annoyed. I recently discovered this does not happen in unbridled mode.

The worst I’ve heard was a coworker who looked at my car and said, “how do you like your Chevy?”

I know she knew nothing about cars and didn’t understand the magnitude of this insult (JK).

No harm was meant and no harm came from calling my Mustang the “C” word.

Forget incognito, non chromatic colors require more antidepressants. Road rage is not a thing with a cute bitch in the backseat. Don’t get black as it is not slimming, it makes the black trim just look fatter like you just have a Ford Edge or Escape.

The only problem I had was in 2022 I was parked in a pro spot at Home Depot. A guy told me that parking space is for pros only. I told him that works out since I am a Home Depot pro and have been since 2011.

I was picking up a water heater. Oh yeah, it did not fit and I had to come back with the pickup.
thank you for saying “water heater” and not “hot water heater”. 😄

I have to remind people that one doesn’t heat hot water. 🤦‍♂️
