My roof had subtantial wind noise.

When I drove a loaner MMe while my 12volt battery problem was being fixed, it became clear to me that my roof was generating way more noise than the loaner MMe (and my roof was much higher in relation to the windshield as well).

Based on feedback from others on the forum, my gap between the windshield and roof is larger as well (>3/16 of an inch).

I bought the product below from grainger and it reduced reduced the noise by 50-70%. My only issue is I may need a slightly larger product (probably 1/4 inch) if it is to stay in place long term.

have you tried running it around the side? It looks like the same gap continuing, which might make some noise around corners, and with cross-winds.

I was so happy with the results from the front, I didn’t feel compelled to continue it (most of my noise presented itself in the front/center of the roof).

Thanks and this confirms the issue can be fixed...hopefully Ford is planning on a consistent solution for customers experiencing the issue

Nice work. Yeah, I wouldn't be surprised if they address this with a more permanent solution. I wonder if this is a build flaw, or simply a design flaw? I'd guess the former, because not everyone seems to notice it.

My only concern is that you're changing the dynamics of water collection up there, but who knows if that will actually matter.
Good job!

I'm concerned with how will it hold up to the weather, dirt, and UV.

Awesome. Thanks for the find. This is usually in the window screen section as spline. It’s also on Amazon for $10/10ft.

Sure. But do you want to take your car to the dealer - probably multiple times - and have your car taken on test drives - probably multiple times - and be told at least once - probably multiple times - that the issue couldn’t be reproduced or that this is normal, and just generally hassle with this to get your “warranty repair” for an issue that can easily be remedied yourself for a few bucks?

Now let’s find a similar DIY fix for the driver screen coil whine.

I agree as this fix needs further testing by Ford . Generally there are tiny holes and water drainage system underneath. Once I had holes clog up in the sliding moon roof system and water started to come down in the cabin. I hope this Doesnot clog the water drainage holes.
