Is it just me or does the thickness of the sidewalls of the tires look even better here. Looks pretty macho/offroad like that to me haha.

Interesting look. Honestly, can't say I'm a fan of the all black wheels. Just looks... unfinished.

I'm showing my age here, but reminds of my first car in the 1970s that had bare wheels and was missing the hubcaps.

Wow! you're right, that might have been part of my hangup with the black aeros also! Growing up everybody had silver hubcaps and whitewalls, and the all black tires and all black wheels just don't look right. I've been describing it as tonka truck wheels, but maybe your description is better - the hub caps are missing!

Looks good, just missing some chrome center caps :D I think those Explorer police cruisers with similar black wheels and chrome center caps look mean.

looks great @timbop !
Especially on that Rapid Red, and the matching gloss black accents. I was debating going down to 18"s to get more sidewall and see if it improves the ride (more cushion). I am a novice when it comes to aftermarket wheels and trying to match specs to keep as OEM as possible... this may actually be a good solution to try! Wonder how much these would set me back, hmmm....

Can you take the Mustang center caps from the Aero covers and put them on the wheels?

I've been digging thru Amazon for 60/56 caps, some have the Mustang, some are plain.

But if you could pop the center cap from the Aero and snap them to the steel wheels that would be loads better.

From what I can tell, I'll need to unscrew the lug nuts to remove the cover. Did you have to jack the Mach E or did you just unscrew away? (with a jack stand of course)

Is the Aero cover one piece or is it several pieces?

Thanks for any insight!

The mustang center caps in the aero covers are too small - the outer diameter is about 55mm and the diameter of the clips is of course less than that.

You can't just get flush/flat caps - you need the kind that have depth to them because there is a threaded bolt that sticks out about half an inch.

Yes you need to take the lug nuts off to remove the aero cover, so yes I jacked the car up.

The aerocover itself is one piece, but the mustang caps do pop out

Well, let's see if these work, 56mm. Asked seller full dimensions. Seems deep for the 1/2" but...
Yeah those were on my short list, but they don't show the dimensions like some of the others so I didn't order them.

This looks like exactly what I got:
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005002336778483.html?spm=a2g0o.productlist.0.0.3c32537eOdZnfu&algo_pvid=4860a714-01fd-4dde-b502-ca768419b97b&algo_exp_id=4860a714-01fd-4dde-b502-ca768419b97b-54&pdp_ext_f={"sku_id":"12000020157117089"}

*** EDIT ***
here is the same thing on amazon by searching "60mm volk cap"
https://www.amazon.com/Pangtyus-Whe...&keywords=60mm+volk+cap&qid=1629478461&sr=8-2

Don't quote me on the 1/2", it could be 3/4" but the ones I linked from amazon above are about an inch deep so clear easily and fit just right
