I saw a rubber cargo mat that sits at the bottom of the frunk somewhere but I cannot remember where. Does anybody know of a rubber cargo mat made specifically to fit in the bottom of the frunk? I think this would help with items shifting around and loose items making noise. I plan to remove the divider when I get my car. If you remember seeing this mat being advertised please let me know where you saw it.

Here's one ... but this is vaporware atm. They likely haven't been able to measure a frunk to actually start making them yet.

I guess the only downside of that is if you fill it with ice before you remove the liner :)

BTW, I had my first root canal today! You all do a good job keeping the procedure pain free. I went in expecting to be tortured...it wasnā€™t much worse than getting a cavity filled.

I have the trunk organizer they make and it is pretty nice. Very good construction quality.

I wonder if the mat on the floor of the trunk would interfere with the drain and, if so, if that could make it more difficult to close the trunk. I suppose if that is the case, we could always drill a hole in the mat above the drain hole.

I donā€™t think the mat would provide an airtight seal so my guess would be a hole in it would not be necessary. If the company makes it (itā€™s a company for Tesla products actually) Iā€™m going to purchase it most likely and then weā€™ll know for sure. My other choice is to use rubber modular drainage mats. (Toolots drainage mats https://www.toolots.com/rubber-mat-...8KZEQbUVPG9UIHB1MeNK630AcFj_4blhoC_6sQAvD_BwE). Iā€™d just have to cut it to fit the floor of the frunk . Also, I donā€™t think the mat would prevent small amounts of liquid to drain through the plug. Large amounts of water from ice or beverages would be a problem however. Iā€™ll see what Iā€™m going to do after my car actually arrives and the way things are going, that looks to be a long time.

I know; I lived my whole professional life as an Endodontist with people being terrified of me and what I did for a living. Root canals are the butt of many jokes and used to express a procedure that is the worst thing that can happen to you (often equated with childbirth). My patients were always amazed when I was done and often said the same thing you just did. As specialists, that is all we do and we become very proficient at it, Thank you for the compliment to my speciality (or your general dentist). As far as filling the frunk with ice, I donā€™t plan to ever do that.

You might not plan to fill the frunk with ice but I did not plan to have a root canal before my first root canal. Ice happens.

I know this might seem silly, but consider stowing a soft item or two in there (like some microfiber towels?). They'll be good at preventing things from slipping around or, at least, dampening the sound. And they have a purpose - quick on the road touchups for bugs and bird poop. Along with some quick detailer.

I think removing the Frunk divider, putting Frunk mat in there and filling it with frozen dihydrogen monoxide the toss in a few alcoholic grain beverages is going to be far less painful than my one and only root canal. I ended up in the ER. Oops.

That would work too. They might get a bit too dirty to be used on the paint though.

what we really need to find is a Frunk Matt with a pony in it. Because thereā€™s a big shortage of ponies on this car.

That's a possibility too. I keep microfiber cloths in my cars currently for use when the need arises. They're cheap and very useful.

Frunk Matt is what you get when you put Max Headroom in your trunk.
