This might be a stretch for an 'interior mod' but I wanted to see if anyone had any advice.

The mache I have ordered does not have heated seats (a decision I made) but I do like heated seats (mostly for my low back issues). In looking for a solution to this problem I came across a number of heating pads that are designed for cars (google 12v heating pads if interested, not adding links here because I don't want it to come across as if I'm pushing some kind of product).

The comments on the product I'm looking at state it uses "40/45 watts 3/4 amps".

From googling about the mache it seems that the 12v outlet has a 20amp fuse - so this seems like it would be perfectly fine.

Any advice (beside order another car) would be appreciated.

Order another car... ok just kidding.

I think you'll have no issues with the 12V heating pad.

Back when myself and a coworker had Focus Electrics he would use a 12V heating pad all the time in it.

My CA Rt1 also doesn't have heated seats and I've noticed that the seats don't feel that cold in cold weather.

The owner's manual agrees with your mention of 20 Amps, so a 4-5 amp heating pad should be fine.

There are also aftermarket retrofit seat heaters available. A competent driveway mechanic can install one of those on a Saturday morning. ??

Interesting! I've never heard about that before. Are there any for the mache or is it a more generic thing.

They are generic. Remove seat covers, install heater, install heater, connect wiring, reinstall seat covers. ??
