Looking to order a Mach E, but want to find the best Ford dealer. Prefer here in San Antonio, but Austin would be fine too.

I was trying to deal with a Ford dealer in Austin (Cover Ford) to purchase a MME on their lot, but they had a huge mark-up and they wouldn't budge. (Wanted me to buy warranty, theft protection, etc. too and wouldn't remove these items.) I told them I wouldn't order a car through them, because that is ridiculous.

Anyway, if anyone has recommendations for a dealership where they had good experience ordering, please let me know.

I will tell you do not deal with Covert Ford. I made a mistake did not know that they were the worse Ford dealership in Austin when I ordered. I found that out way to late and it was like pulling teeth to get things done. Plus I had to deal with so many lies and BS. There is a reason they are rated a healthy amount below all the other Ford dealers in the greater Austin area.
So F Covert Ford. As you found out there is a reason why I am saying F them.

Sadly the horrible sales guy that I dealt with moved over to Lief Johnson Ford so lets put it this way I will not go there until that guy leaves.
Yes it was that bad. Across the now 7 cars my wife and I have bought in our lives this was by far the worse experiences ever with a dealership.

That is nuts. Well, I am glad I got the impression upfront that they were terrible and staying away now. Thanks for letting me know!

I wound up buying a car in Dallas to get the color my wife wanted, but I was very happy with the customer service at Red McCombs when I was calling around looking:

Can also not recommend Covert Ford of Hutto, I paid $5k ADM (before I knew of this forum and ability to reach out to Mike for assistance… I came in for the Standard range, knew the $5k up for Extended Range, thought that was the increase but no, this was on top of that) and got the runaround for just about everything. Wish I had sold my car to Carmax or Carvana, they gave me about ~$2k less than KBB for my 2016 Ford Fusion, and that was with me negotiating up, whereas my girlfriend got $11k for her 2015 Mazda 3 from Carvana. Didn’t even cross my mind to check theirs first or even get an instant quote while I was waiting for “paperwork”, I’ve never had issues trading in cars and getting their value in the past. I definitely was taken on this one and lot of it my fault for not seeing some of the signs but still, would definitely either be more aware if you do deal with them.

And people wonder why things like Carvana are great, or if I had the option to fully buy the car online through Ford and have it dropped off I’d totally do that instead.

Well you just confirmed what I suspected screw the entire covert group as my mess was with Covert Ford Austin.
They pulled the same crap on my trade offered 5k on my trade that Ford said they would take for 7300. Car max said 7300 and carava was 7100….
I got the written car max offer the said at the dealership I was pulling the trade and would pay cash for the difference. Magically they brought it up to 7k. Sadly took that one due to the tax but I got one last laugh. That car had a cracked radiator a was over heating after a few minutes. Needless to say they never checked and low and behold 2 months later and a failed used car sale later they had to do a coolant fix…. Never mind the fact I had poured and entire bottle of leak stop in there to keep it running for an extra week

What gets me is that I had a great experience with Covert Austin (off 183) in buying my Fusion from them in 2016, but after this experience my girlfriend got a 2021 Ford Escape Titanium through Carvana and we’ve sworn off the Covert group altogether for sales, which sucks for them because while we were waiting for all the other crap she found an Edge ST she loved on the lot, but we said hell no and she really enjoys her new Escape.

I had a somewhat okay experience at Covert Ford off 183. I originally came in for a test drive and didn't realize I would fall in love with the car so they tried to tack on a $5k markup. I was like come on, its not allowed as per Ford so they dropped it to $1.5k markup. After some back and forth, they decided to knock off $2k off MSRP but they sneaked in $3k aftermarket extended warranty. They did hose me on a trade in of a 2017 Subaru with only 15k miles and gave me less than $5k than what KBB valued it at cuz of the "hail damage" (it was actually a cat that walked on it, newer subarus will dent itself if you look at it the wrong way). I also qualified for Ford Credit special promo .9 % apr.

I simply just went back to cancel the service contract. I've had worse experience at Charles Maund Toyota (used side) so this was better than expected.

Maxwell Ford on south I-35 in Austin has always been good to me. I've taken three cars there (2008 Escape, 2017 Explorer, 2021 Mach-E) for service over the past 8 years. They've always given me straight answers and have done good work.

However, I've never bought a car from Maxwell, so I can't speak regarding the car buying experience. Back in June, Maxwell had MMEs on backorder for October delivery dates. So, I found mine at a dealer in Florida. They had one on their lot that had been a factory order, but the buyer backed out. I drove it 1100 miles back to Austin. Great car, but finding fast chargers along I-10 in the Florida panhandle was challenging.

I have heard really good things about Mac Haik Ford. Multiple ones of my wife co workers all have said great thing about them.

I ordered mine through Ford of Boerne back in May. That order still isn’t built (not their fault) but they did call me on a cancelled order which I bought a month plus ago. They don’t have an ADM but did require I buy their $1200 package which includes tint, air in the tires (nitrogen scam) and some other useless items. I at least didn’t have to worry about tinting the windows after. Anyhow, the experience was good. I did trade an Explorer which I could have got a little more through Carvanna but wasn’t worth the hassle.

I just got my Mach-E couple of days ago which I ordered with Maxwell Ford in June.
Every sales person I've met there (besides Mach-E I was looking at an Explorer in 2017) was so indifferent, I almost felt embarrassed. But Google reviews of the salesman who worked with me were all great, so I decided to take a chance.
The purchase was a breeze, expected lowlights included trade-in ripoff (which I agreed to) and strong push to buy a warranty (which I didn't). But they honored X-plan and offered me 0% APR on top of that. Overall I'm satisfied.
As far as I know they have a hefty ADR for the vehicles on the lot. They show MSRP on their website and people get mad because they think that's the price dealer is asking.
Haven't used their service yet.
