Yeah, Until there is an actual Stop Sale issued, I'd say this is the dealer being shady.
Although, the PAAK software update that went to Dealers says at the very top "NEW VEHICLE DELVIERY HOLD" and requires them to do the update before delivering any new cars. And maybe this is what they saw when they ran a report on the car once they got it in?
I personally doubt the PAAK issue is at the heart of what that particular dealer is talking about or improperly refering to, though that's certainly possible. Until more details are made public I think talk about a recall or nationwide stop-sale is somewhat premature. That's not to say there's not something going on or an issue warranting a recall of some proportion (all, a bunch, a few?), just that we don't have enough information yet. This is how it looks on the dealers side. I can almost bet, this is what they are talking about.
For all we know it could be a PAAK issue (though unlikely imo), perhaps an LVB-HVB interface issue, perhaps it's the incredibly steep coupled with incredibly long descent regen issue, maybe the sunroof has a danger of becoming a pop-top, perhaps the large screen is phoning home to Fremont instead of Dearborn, maybe its an Explorer type tire issue. Feel free to insert your own silly, serious, and entirely speculative possibilities for the dealer's statement. Until Ford comments (and they will eventually if there is a stop-sale and/or recall), we just don't really know.
And as a reminder, we are in model year 1. We are the folks who are making this a better car for those yet to come. Or something.
