On the Sync screen, when I select "Settings", then "Software Updates" all I see are the three sequential dots. I left the display in that mode for 10+ minutes and it won't show current status. It worked fine this morning. I have received 4 updates in the last week. Does this feature connect with Ford servers to display the current software update status or is it pulling it from the car?

Those 3 dots don’t actually indicate that the car is actually checking for updates, instead the car is supposed to check for updates on startup. It will show the 3 dots and tell you its checking for updates, and then will say no updates available whether it actually checked or not (you can try by turning off connected services and WiFi), so whatever its hung on is likely internal to SYNC. Which means you should be able to try again by turning off the car, moving the fob/PAAK away for 10 minutes, or by holding the volume down and next track button to reboot the system.

Thank you. I reset Sync and that fixed it.
