This is a brief rundown of a weekend trip up the Northern California Coastline.

Start: Novato, CA 95 percent SOC
Destination: Point Arena, CA to a hotel with no charging.
Total miles: Approximately 250 miles round trip. No DCFC.

An overnight stop in Bodega Bay, at a hotel with no charging. We decided to run 110V out of our hotel door to the car with the Ford Mobile Charger, then thought better if it because the extension cable was on a walkway, causing a potential tripping hazard. Only gained 2 percent battery at that stop.

Stopped at Fort Ross, charged for an hour on level 2, got 9 percent battery back while touring the site.

Made it to Point Arena with range to spare. Charge Point charger in the city parking lot, had lunch and toured the small downtown area. Less than an hour and a half, 14 percent charge.

In the morning, left the Hotel, got breakfast in Point Arena before heading home, 46 min on charger, 7 percent charge up to 81 percent SOC.

Arrived back in Novato at 38 percent SOC. Crazy efficiency due to slow speeds on the Coastal highway, 3.9 to 4.1 miles/kWH. Very mild temps, 60-82 F.

So, you can totally can road trip in this car (lowest possible range trim). On the West Coast, it's not really a challenge, you just have to plan stops with level 2 charging infrastructure.

I can't wait to take a much longer trip up the coast, with hotels that have level 2 charging.

Thanks for sharing. My Select SR AWD has also been great for trips like this. I try to find a hotel with free L2 charging if I'm making an overnight stop. Outside of that, Electrify America has done the job for DCFC, along with other L2 charging locations here and there and grocery stores, etc.
