Should I upgrade my Mach E or move on?

@FME, scattered another EV you’re interested in? If so, I’d give it serious consideration. If there’s a Ford ICE vehicle you like that’s another option.

Thanks guys. I appreciate the input.

I drove all the Tesla comparisons before buying the Mach E and think the Mach E is a better built car and I even own Tesla stock. Ford just really needs step up their game with the software.

Does anyone know if the suspension has changed from 2021-2024? I swear the 2024 wasn't as rigid.
No changes, Better ride get GT in 2024 magnaride is standard, or looks for GM blazer EV

When you say, "replace with any other vehicle", what do you mean? There must be some MSRP limit they've put on you, or this discussion would be much different, I think.
Of course. MSRP-MSRP
If I upgrade, I pay.
If I downgrade I lose.

2024 is alot different than 2021 for the EV landscape.
I'd take this opportunity to try out new EVs and updated ones as well. It's a great second chance.

Will they give you a 2024 MSRP less your 2021 MSRP? Pretty great deal, if so!

If my quick search is accurate, the '21 Premium ER AWD MSRP was about $58k. You can get a 2024 GT with more performance and improved suspension for $60k. Three years newer, no depreciation, much less chance of any significant software issues. No brainer upgrade for $2k in my mind!

I must have been very lucky. I have a 2021 Select and have had no real issues. I am at 37 months and around 34K miles.

It really comes down to what you want. If you want another Mach e specifically, then I totally agree with Just Lurking. If you want to open up your options, then take the money and get whatever you want. As they say...cash is king.

On second thought, even if you want another Mach e, you could take the buyout option and lease a new one. Then if you don't have any issues with it and still love it at lease end, you can buy it. Ford did not allow you to purchase at lease end in 2021, now they do.

How big of a difference between 2023 models and 2024 models?

I drove a 2024 today and it was nice, but so is my 2021.

Big discounts on 2023s now.

I won’t consider another Mach E if they don’t improve the ride. I don’t need more power and 10 extra miles of range that the 24 models have won’t make a difference for me. I’m just tired of the bucking bronco ride.
Which can be solved with a 24 gt as they come with Magnaride now, but it costs range and still might not fit your desired ride quality. I could have gone to a GTPE but It was on the other side of the spectrum being a bit too soft.

I say do yourself a favor and look at all the other options.

Ford still has a lot of learning to do at this point and knowing what I know now I don’t think we would have purchased our mach e.

How much discounts from New window stickers are you seeing? When doing buyback, do you have to pay for MSRP or are you able to get dealer discounts too?

They write me a check.
What I negotiate and pay is just like anyone walking in.

There are some good deals on the 2023 models and just a little off on the 2024 models.

They issue me a check and what I can negotiate is up to me. Just like anyone else coming in to buy a vehicle.

Might look at the Hyundai again and possibly the Tesla's.

I drove a Ioniq 6 and it was nice but feel I would like to have the room of the Ioniq 5.
Seems like you always need to haul something.

The Tesla's are just not nearly as nice as the Ford's on the inside and for that matter neither are the Hyundai's.

Wish I could say that about our 21. It has been good but not perfect. Our 22, has been pretty much flawless since delivery.

The only reason I would get another Make/ Model would be for charge curve and that is not important for my use profile so I would get another in an instant. Rally would be nice if I could delete the wing....
