I should have been clearer. I drove another Mach-E this weekend that did not have the noise

Interesting, I'm not sure if the dealer's test drive car had it. I didn't even notice it in mine until the second day.

I friend of mine bought a similar model (his is Premium RWD Std Range, mine is Premium AWD Extended), I could only hear the noise but it was for sure not as loud

So it did have it just not as loud? Or you were in a different one that didn't have it at all?

It did have it but not as loud. I wasn't able to hear it when driving only when completely stopped

Just test drove a brand new Select Standard AWD and noticed the screen buzzing quite audibly. I have been in 2 others so far before this issue was brought up and had not noticed it before.

This car actually was making quite a bit of noise from the motor as well. Disappointed as I have a vehicle on order although not likely to receive until end of year.

I took it to another dealership this morning.

A service person entered the car and heard the buzzing noise coming from the driver's dashboard. Unfortunately, the specialist on the Mach-E would only arrive later in the day, and the service person said it would take them at least 1 whole day to disassemble the dashboard to find the cause of the noise and did not know how long it would take them to fix it later.

They did not have any service loaners available, and I cannot stay without the car so I rescheduled it for July.

To be honest, I feel no confidence that Ford knows how to fix this. Given it is a known issue (given that they have an SSM) they should know how long it would take to fix it..

@Ford Motor Company you seriously need to step up the game here, multiple people complaining about the noise for months and you have not instructed the dealerships on how to fix it

It's coming from the small screen. I would not let them rip apart the dashboard just to realize it's coming from the display

I agree, I don’t think there is anything that can really be done at this point until Ford puts out a revised driver display based on all the comments I’ve seen on here - luckily, I think this is coming later this year.

I think having a formal service intake is important for visibility to Ford of the scope of the problem, but I too would be hesitant if they wanna take apart the dash to do exploratory surgery when it’s clearly coming from the driver display screen.

I confirmed it is similar to my car with 2 other MME on the dealer lot while mine was in for the FSA. Mentioned it to sales and service as well

Has anyone tried a workaround to reduce the noise? Adding sound deadening to the back of the display? A thick plastic or glass screen protector on the front? Or a clear plexiglass enclosure that fits entirely around the display, slipping on from the top?

I have not but I’d be interested to see how that goes.

Min brightness wasn't the least noisy setting for me.

I don't know is mine makes any noise like this. I am deaf in the frequencies that the screen whine is present in for both ears. Maybe is makes the drive more pleasant but sucks listening to music when some of it is missing.
