I was against that $2k initially but it's actually money well spent, shaving 0.5 seconds is big especially when your 0-60 times are already low 4.2 or 4.3, doing that in ice would cost you a bigger chunk if Ford makes something similar available, I'd go for it personally, especially on the GT, I do not want to spend $6k more to get GT package, but I'll spend $2k more to shave 0.5 seconds.There is precedent for this as Tesla sold (still sells?) an acceleration boost for certain Model 3s that increases horsepower by 50 for $2,000. Sort-of pricey for a software update, but it's nice to have the option.
