After about 3,000 miles, I'm hitting an issue I can't diagnose.

As soon as I open the door (I've got my real key with me - - this isn't a PAAK issue), I start getting the warning sound normally associated with not buckling up. But I haven't started the car or done anything else yet. When I stop the car, it's the same thing - - I get the warning sound from the time the car is stopped until I open the door to exit. I can't figure out why - - there's no indication on the dash or anywhere else.

Anyone run into this? Any ideas? I've checked all the doors (closed), checked to make sure I didn't have an interior light on - - just can't quite figure out what's going on.

Rear seat reminder, or alarm sensor reminder?

Turn headlight switch to on then back to auto. It is a bug in the headlight switch. If you notice your headlights will be on and the switch will have nothing lit up.

It is the ford 3 note chime, right?

Confirmed - - resetting the headlights to Automatic by wheeling that dial around fixed things. Thanks and sorry for the dupe thread. Hopefully helps someone else find it with a search next time.

Glad it was an easy fix. You may have it do it again in the future where you just see your lights randomly come on.

I don't know if this is fixed with a BCM software update or if the headlight switch has bad software. Not sure if the switch itself can be updated though as it is a LIN module to the BCM. In theory it is possible.

I am experiencing the same thing, the car seems to forget that I had the headlights set for Auto on/off, so when i walk away from the car the lights stay on. I have had to go back outside twice this week to turn them off, luckily people let me know quickly.

Thank You! I was experiencing this same thing with the chime, and had no idea it was why my head light were actually on. IMO the vehicle should at least give me a cluster message or something.

The problem is the headlight switch disconnects from the BCM which means the BCM automatically turns the lights on because it doesn't know the input from the headlight switch. It is a bug they need to work out either in the headlight switch or the BCM.

I still have this same issue on my GT.

I guess that makes sense, it fails safe. I wonder if this is unique to GTs. Happened on my GT after ~1000miles.

Just wanted to let everyone know - my 2022 select also did this. Thanks to this thread I was able to fix it. Ford needs to update the software.
