I’m able to get PAAK to work well, but strangely, I can’t get my phone to pair on Bluetooth, or connect to my home WiFi network. I have an appointment at the dealer Wednesday, to see if they can sort it out. So much for getting a new car, and having everything just work. I guess it’s one of the pitfalls of being an early adopter.

Morning All,

I had SSM 49730 performed on my Mach-E the other day which updates the RFA module. I can say that it certainly improved the connectivity of an iPhone used as a PaaK. I won't say it's perfect. For example, after shutting down the car, getting out for a few moments and re-entering it to leave Carplay did not auto connect and I had to manually do it. But I have seen a very noticeable improvement.

Was it Carplay that didn't automatically reconnect or PaaK?

I had my display replaced last week, and I think they did some updates as well.... but I don't know for sure. Is there any way to see various module version numbers to tell if your vehicle actually has all updates installed?

Gotcha. So has PaaK failed at all since getting the update?
Also I don't know if the timing was a cooincidence, but I can personally say that PaaK has worked way better for me since updating to FordPass 3.21.0. Which version of FordPass was this working with?

Paak has not failed at all since this update was performed. And I too am at the same version of FordPass as you are. I was getting no key detected even though vehicle was operating normally until this update was completed. I'm not getting that any longer which is a good thing.

Next service at the Ford dealership, the auto wipers swipe once every trip even though it's bone dry outside.

And I still have not received any OTA updates.

This may be a setting you have on.... I remember seeing something like a 'courtesy wipe' and 'auto-sense' for the wipers, which I turned OFF.

And I still have not received any OTA updates.

Well folks, sadly, the no key detected has reared its ugly head once again when using Paak. So it seems that SSM 49730 does not correct the issue entirely.

I gave up on using my phone as a key after leaving the MME at the dealer all day, having codes cleared and SSM 49730 reprogrammed, uninstalling and reinstalling the app, and it still doesn't work.

My iPhone pairs when I start the car but then loses the pairing and keeps trying to pair usually unsuccessfully. It sometimes pairs for 5 minutes maybe and then I get the unable to pair error code. My WiFi works great and has since I connected to my gateway. Please let me know what your dealer tells you or what they do about this problem especially if there is a software update available. Thank you.

Good to know. I recently got the fob from my wife, and am using that rather than PAAK. Now I know I don't need to go out of my way to get an appointment to get this update.

I think my car got mad at me for making an appointment regarding this SSM.

This past Friday I scheduled an appointment for this coming Friday to receive this update. The day after making the appointment PaaK completely stopped working! I can’t get it to work at all. I’ve been using PaaK for almost two months now. Some times it would be delayed or I would have to hit the door button a few times or hit the start button a few times but it would eventually always work. Now I am forced to carry the fob, which I’m not a fan of, because I hate carrying things. I hate things in my pocket besides my phone. Yes I can use the door code and password but after doing that several times. I decided to just put up with the fob in my pocket.

I’ve already left the house a few times and have had to run back in for the fob or have went to lunch and left the fob in my back back at my desk ??‍♂

Dropped BT connection seems to be 'regular' status after a couple minutes.... and then FordPass seems to try connecting repeatedly, failing, and eating data and battery on m y phone.

Interestingly, if I hit the door lock/unlock or Start button in FordPass, it often re-connects BT, and updates my charge status successfully as well as allows use of PAAK as long as I get there before BT disconnects.
