SSM 52345 2022-2024 Various Vehicles - SYNC4 - Error Message When Trying To Enroll In Connected Services

Some 2022-2024 various Ford/Lincoln vehicles equipped with SYNC 4 may experience concern where customers are receiving an error message when trying to enroll in connected services. This may be due to the gateway module (GWM) software. To correct the concern, download and run the Transport and Factory Mode Deactivation app: under HS1 modules select BCM > Transport and Factory Mode > Download > Run. When the pop-up message appears for Change Vehicle Mode - Transport/Factory/Normal Mode, press OK. This will proceed to the Transport and Factory Mode Deactivation screen, select Unlock Vehicle Connectivity Settings (21 MY + Vehicles). A pop-up message appears noting Vehicle Is Now In Normal Mode, select OK. This will return to the Transport and Factory Mode Deactivation screen, select Exit. A final pop-up notification stating that the application is finished, select OK. For claiming, use causal part 14G490 and applicable labor operations in Section 10 of the Service Labor Time Standards (SLTS) Manual.

----End SSM----

If you cannot enroll in connected services, it may be because your dealer never officially took your vehicle out of transport mode before delivery. A routine will need to be run in FDRS to restore the GWM to normal mode.

I guess this bug was more notable lately since you were forced to enroll to get the free adapter. Not really sure why up here as what is connected is a fraction of what is available. No IVY (Ontario hydro) chargers shown etc. I registered after 3 years because it said you had to to get the adapter. It did said I was successful in ordering it but never got a confirmation email to the address that it said it would be sent to. Whoever thought that this would go off without a hitch has not been paying attention. The adapter may or may not be coming soon. I skipped 42 updates but did get the Tesla one. Appears the car does update if the updates are sent.

FYI this has nothing to do with not getting an email after reserving the NACS adapter. That was a server glitch due to high demand.

2021 here so not in this ssm bracket. I guess those that have this problem could not order their free adapter if they could not activate the BlueOval™ Charge Network in connected services which as I noted was a requirement for some reason to get the adapter. Understand that the ssm is unrelated to any emails. Tap tap tap waiting from my Tesla Tap ;)
