SSM 90210 - 18 August 2021 - 2021 Mustang Mach-E/F-150 - Door, SYNC, and FordPass Concerns - Engineering Investigation

Some 2021 Mustang Mach-E/F-150 vehicles may exhibit problems with driver door not automatically unlocking on approach. Symptoms include it working, and then randomly not working, most frequently associated with when you are carrying something heavy and like really need to just open the door. In addition certain settings may not be (read: will not be) retained, such as toggling off alarm internal motion sensor, keeping screen set on Dark Mode, and radio presets. Oh and occasionally it will randomly start a nav session to a secret location which is actually kinda fun. It has also been reported that FordPass is a cluttered mess that makes it really hard to find and access useful features, but it does show you a really pretty picture of your car taking up about half the Home Screen.

Engineering has been investigating these issues since January 2021. A software fix will be released OTA Q2 2021. Software Is Hard.

It's a joke. But painfully true. If Ford could get software working correctly this actually might be one of the best cars ever created since the inception of the automobile but the software is so hilariously bad, this is like late 1980s standards for software.
