According to Jim Farley, Ford CEO -

No one on this forum ever had failure. It was just DEMO units. You know, those demo GTs that never existed based on the timeline.

This is getting comically stupid.

Key is publicly, which is why I'm quite upset.
There has to be a reason why my unshipped, 4/20 still in production GTPE has been driven around 2 miles a day every day at the plant since Sunday if Ford isn't testing something. Other GTPEs in the same build week are also noticing similar daily movement of their cars around the factory. Makes sense if we are getting more than just a software update and we are the lab rats.

So the issue is only tied to DEMO units now? And the customers on this forum who have had this issue purchased a demo unit? Am I understanding this dweeb correctly?

edit: Jim is a dweeb. Not dev

Even though I drive like an old man so really do not “Heat” things up I do kind of wish I knew what the almost guaranteed failure circumstances are. If my car failed before the update I would get the new part and the software. I could live with that.

It's plastered throughout the forum. Ford even said in their documentation.

Even if you have the new part you are getting the neutering software that will limit performance probably.

Thought they may have been blowing smoke as to the cause. Just joking anyway. My car performs just fine and I am not worried if there is a slight performance reduction.

So disrespectful.
Maybe it should have read "we also detected the issue on demo units"
I just don't construe that message to be disrespectful, it's just poorly worded. Or..maybe it's masterfully worded /shrug

Or maybe is should have read.

sorry public , we screwed up and put an inferior part in your car that will fail if used in normal driving And charging. Not to worry, our solution is to reduce your enjoyment of the car but to increase your enjoyment, T least your car will still be able to be driven around town, although slowly and you will be able to take more time shopping at Walmarts while your car slowly recharges.

I remain skeptical that this software will meet his statement with the description we’ve seen.

He has a media team. Every word on his posts are intentional, IMHO.

Then the next post saying it doesn’t affect performance should be good enough for those worried.
In situations like these, take the total opposite of what CEOs say early on.
