Hi MACH E FAMILY!

On October 8th I tried to start the car and got the “stop safely now” message! the car was working normal the day before and I’m really concerned about the car. Car only had 27,000 miles on it.

Car is still at the dealership , and I JUST got a loaner from ford yesterday, mechanic was saying he doesn’t really know what is wrong with it and the car has been torn apart trying to figure out what’s wrong.

has anyone had any experience with this? Car is a 2021 MACH E California route; I placed a buy back request with ford on October 11th too cause I don’t know if I want to go back to the electric car after this.

curious to hear your thoughts!

I don't have any experience with buybacks but if this is the first time with this issue in 3 years and they are still working on it, a buyback request 3 days into the problem seems premature and probably unlikely to be approved.

I have had the SSN message and car bricked due to both HVJB and subsequent battery damage that was repaired/replaced in about 5 days (including shipping time for Junction and an entire new HV battery). No similar issues since.

Indeed. Not to take away from the OP's annoyance that something is wrong with their vehicle, but this kind of expectation is absurd and laugh worthy.

Send me your VIN, I might be able to see what’s wrong with it.

When a car fails like this it throws an error code. You should call your service department and inquire as to what error code was generated. That is what @Mach-Lee is requesting your VIN for. Unfortunately cars breakdown and then you have to give the dealer time to repair them. Buyback at this point does not seem plausible unless for some reason they can not figure out how to repair it in a timely manner.

You have a P0AA6 code for a battery isolation fault. That means you have a problem inside the battery pack. Most likely the battery pack will need to be dropped out of the car and replaced. A Ford engineer might need to visit your dealer to help with the diagnosis. Battery pack replacement can take several weeks.

Hopefully you have a case started with the BEV team so they can monitor progress.

FYI, you have to give them an opportunity to fix your car before a buyback request would be approved. It has not been out of service for 30 days yet, so your request will likely be denied because it was filed too soon.

You need to look at your state’s lemon law. Document everything. Keep all receipts, including gas you use in rental. Probably don’t have a case unless they have the car for more than 30 days. On the 30th day, or when your car is technically a lemon by your state- make another request in writing with documentation.

@Mach-Lee already pulled a code for your car indicating a battery pack issue. That may or may not be the only problem (most likely it is). The tech should see that same code and be able to diagnose the exact issue. It will just take a little time to diagnose, get new parts, and repair. ??

Hi there. This battery fault concern doesn’t sound like something we want you to experience with your Mach-E. Should you need further assistance, please send us a DM with your VIN and the name and location of your Ford dealer and I'd be happy to look into how I can assist you on my end. To send a direct message, just click on our username and select "Send Direct Message".

I do not know if there is a new thread on this...

But my July Produced 2022 just had this error - drove to work like normal, went out to get lunch - boom DEAD "Stop Safely Now" - Ford roadside is on the way to get it to the dealer...

But @Ford Motor Company - Mine should have had the "new part" and what to do about a loaner car? the dealership said they do not have anything...

July 2022 got the second generation part. For the GT at least the third generation part was introduced mid-November of 2023. Not sure of the cut-in for the other models, but I assume near the same time. ??

A loaner is supposed to be covered under the recall, but I don’t think a warranty replacement has one covered (I got mine replaced in August of 2023 under warranty and it wasn’t covered then). ??
