Hmm I suspect that manufacturers pushing a lot of inventory onto dealer lots historically has had a lot to do with this. One of the lessons learned by manufacturers during Covid has been to not build cars on spec because having hundreds of cars in inventory at each dealer leads to mfg discounts and low profits.People so quickly forget the that reason they didn’t have to pay sticker or got a good deal on their last car is the negotiating (buyer’s) power that the dealership model gives consumers. Have you tried negotiating with Tesla in the past?
