UPDATE
Following Mark's pdfs, I easily removed all the inside panels using my hands and no tools. Lemon squeezy easy.
Getting the 2 light bolts requires a deep socket 10mm wrench.
I removed the light because 2 pieces of the clear plastic were loose in there, and I wanted to use them to fill as much as possible. I glued them in place, and I filled the gap left by the missing plastic with clear silicone rtv. I hoped for a smooth look, but I don't like how it looks. It's transparent, sure and needs to cure some more, but the finish of the surface is rugged and looks like the surface of Mars. Running a wet finger along it, like you do in a bathroom caulk did not seem to work.
I obviously don't see the light while I drive, but I wanted a better finish.
No, I'm not spending $250 on ebay, if I were to find it at that price, to buy a used one. Yet. Perhaps if I keep this lease, I may replace it in 2 years.
Can I aspire to a smoother finished look to that? Will I be able to sand it when it dries?
Thanks again.
EDIT - I can't sand it, I know; it doesn't harden enough. Plus then buff, etc, all without hitting the trunk surface. I think that I'll remove the silicone carefully, and I will fill the gaps better.
