Finally got a production date for my 2021 GTPE order, it’s 11/22. With some of the performance issues mentioned and documented on this forum, should I accept the 2021 or move to a 2022 order hoping Ford works through PE performance? Thanks

I don’t think that’s a question that can be answered by anyone but you. I personally will be taking delivery of the 2021 GT-PE that I reserved and not look for a 2022. The 2022 hardware isn’t much different from the 2021, so any performance issues will be the same. If they are hardware issues, there will be no fix. If they are software issues, there may or may not be a fix.

I agree with @HuntingPudel here. Only you can decide what matters to you, but I think the biggest “real” issue will be a 21 v 22 model year when it comes time to determine aging for resale or perhaps a (knock on wood) insurance claim. Even though it’s a matter of a couple of months, it’s a “model year older.”

However, just IMHO, get it as soon as you can and start enjoying it, because damn, are the Mach-Es a lot of fun to drive.

Boo….. you gave me false hope.

The update mentioned in the article is already announced and all about being able to charge more quickly.

The “performance issues” are how the GT is falling on its face above 80 mph and trapping slower in the 1/4 mile than a premium.

Ford hasn’t said squat.

I have both a 21 GT and a 22 premium and I'm very interested in those particular performance issues as well.
