So we’re thinking that CCS charging at Superchargers probably isn’t coming to US now?
I'm certainly not going to hold my breath and wait for Elon to make a decision

I bet it eventually happens. The question is what form? Dedicated CCS handles/cables? Adapters that users would need to buy on their own? MagicDocks (adapters built in to the charger)? Supposedly they're already planning some of the latter at some of the biggest charging stations in CA (like Baker). But who knows if that may have already changed.

It's Beta vs VHS all over again. Tesla knows they will have to adopt the J1772 connector in North America unless the big three adopts theirs. The problem is, yes it's smaller, and yes it's lighter, but with smaller gauge wire it's less efficient. That's why the cable it so short. With charging losses for EV's at about 10%, including Tesla, I would rather have the heavier cable with heavier connector, regardless of the length. Especially with high current.

Tesla is day late for this, their ship sailed. They should have been open at the beginning and then there would have been a chance they would have become the standard. Now its too late.

Tesla accidentally leaked that the Hawthorne station is getting CCS. Here’s the link and a screenshot for when they inevitably correct it.
I’m on my way. I can make it there with about 20 charge stops. Took ABRP a while to crunch such a trip, but it looks fairly direct. It will probably be operational by the time I get there.

Hawthorne makes sense to unveil CCS compatibility in North America as it’s their original Supercharger station and later became the first public V3 station.

Feel like it’s gonna just be a website error, but hopefully not

Looks like maybe actually possibly it could really be happening soon?
