It irks me that advertisers for EVs make such a big deal out of having a NACS port, when there are no chargers to connect it too in vast areas of Canada. Tesla stopped rolling out charging at the pace they used to and I would basically need an adapter to connect to all the CCS chargers I normally use. The nearest Tesla charger I could use from Lethbridge, AB is 84 km away. Many places I visit, located to the north, are hundreds of miles from any Tesla chargers that are compatible.

Until everything moves to NACS, this is how it will be. Adapters required.

With more chargers required, I'm pretty sure Tesla won't be one of the companies providing additional charging stations in Canada. Their sales in this country tanked, it doesn't make sense for them to install any new charging locations. Tesla Sales in Canada Fell More Than 60% in 2025 according to driveteslacanada.ca.

As we speak Tesla is installing 10 V4 superchargers in Gasoline Alley just south of Red Deer Alberta. They already have 8 V3 chargers in the same area. So they are still contributing to the charging network in parts of Canada.

I'm confused. Why do you need an adapter to connect to all the CCS chargers you normally use?

Your post is ridiculous. 52.5 miles is exactly the distance that chargers should be spread out.

Lethbridge has 3 CCS locations including Electrify Canada. In all directions there are charging options. What are you complaining about?

I'm confused too because in QC almost all Tesla chargers are open to other EVs and they're all located on important routes.

I'm saying if I had the NACS port, I wouldn't have much access to NACS charging in this region. Instead, I would use the CCS chargers, and need to use an adapter. NACS charging is not necessarily a benefit in some areas. In my case, having a CCS port is simpler.

The number of chargers overall in Southern Alberta is very good, this is an excellent area for EV travel. However, some areas I will be travelling are very underserved. In the French River area of Ontario, for example, I will have to drive 130 km round trip to get a charge from any kind of charger, so I can continue to have mobility during our vacation. This is not that far north and is served by several major highways. Lots of improvement needs to be made for ease of travel in Canada. That's why the claims about charging ease in Canadian commercials bugs me, even with access to the odd Tesla Supercharger thrown in.

We will all need adapters one way or another for many years to come in order to have the most compatibility, as is what happens with any change in standard. (Eg USB-A/micro USB/Lightning to USB-C)

Even if Tesla does not deploy as many new chargers, other companies can deploy chargers with NACS.

Sorry, I’m just not following what your gripe is about. You are complaining that your CCS car doesn’t have a NACS port so it can’t charge natively on NACS chargers that don’t yet exist.

My complaint is lack of charging infrastructure. What also bugs me is car companies claiming giving me a NACS port on my next EV will solve everything, when it doesn't.

Glad to hear charging isn't an issue in QC. I expected it would be excellent. I spend a lot of time travelling in BC and I don't even have to think about charging, charge points are as ubiquitous as gas stations. The provinces in between, however, have a long way to go.
