This kid has mental health issues. Got out of jail, bought another Model 3 and pulled the same stunt. Look at the interview, he should have his license revoked.
He should get more than that.

Agreed. The FSD technology isn't foolproof yet. It's sad that this jerk is being reckless in such a populated area. But, Tesla MUST step up and squelch this stupidity.
Clearly. This fool is proof of that!

I fully blame Elon for not wanting to put eye-monitoring hardware in his cars. Ford, GM, BMW, etc all are doing it with proven success.
Tesla has safety features to prevent this. when a user goes to great lengths to override said safety features, it is ALL on the driver not car co. The driver has to do SEVERAL things to override the safety features, so why does Tesla have to add more to prevent stupid? Someone will figure out how to get around the eye-monitoring, will it be up to car co to add more safety features to try to prevent a user to override yet another safety feature.

Until we see someone using GM SuperCruise (which uses eye monitoring) from the backseat of their Escalade, it's a superior technology to Tesla, in my opinion.

Not only Tesla doesn't prevent the stupid owners from killing themselves and others, you can argue it's encouraging it with misleading branding, with phony videos claiming the car drives itself, with irresponsible Musk statements, with scores of shills on the tube selling that BS.

It's never going to happen, for one SuperCruise I don't believe will be going into an affordable car that Tik Tokers and You Tubers can buy (At least right now). Two, GM isn't hated as much as Tesla is hated so no one will even bother with it.

SuperCruise is available on the Bolt EUV. The yahoo in this case claims to be rich, so picking up an Escalade to do stupid things with shouldn't be a problem. ? ?

Really? Damn, I didn't even realize that. Looks like the salesman missed that pitch when I was looking to buy one two years ago. Hmmmmm......

Yeah, but the yahoo in this case is also an Elon cult member, the Escalade is beneath him ?

The Bolt EUV is the new, larger model that comes out this summer. AFAIK SC is not available on the standard Bolt.

There is a lot of money in large view numbers. Don’t be so sure some social media “celebrity” could afford just about any car available in the us.

Well, here we go:

California places Tesla’s ‘Full Self-Driving’ under review

California's Department of Motor Vehicles is reviewing whether Tesla is violating a state regulation by advertising its vehicles as being fully autonomous without meeting the legal definition of self-driving.

The department confirmed the review Monday in an email to The Associated Press. State regulation prohibits advertising vehicles for sale or lease as autonomous if they can't comply with the regulatory definition, it said.

Tesla advertises a $10,000 “Full Self-Driving” option on the website for its electric vehicles, but the same website says the vehicles cannot drive themselves. CEO Elon Musk has said he expects Tesla’s vehicles will be able to drive themselves more safely than humans sometime this year.

I don't think we'll see SC in the Bolt. There aren't any plans to move the Bolt or Bolt EUV onto the new platform with Ultium batteries, so these models will be phased out as the new replacements show up. Given the time frames -- three or four years -- it's hard to see SC making its way into the Bolt before its production ends.

Pretty much sums things up. :)

Tesla driver slept while car was going 80 mph on interstate, Wisconsin police say
Ford Mustang Mach-E Tesla owner arrested after being caught ‘backseat driving’ {filename}

A driver in Wisconsin has been cited after police say he was asleep behind the wheel of a Tesla as it barreled down the interstate Sunday.
Just before 8 a.m., the Kenosha County Sheriff’s Office received a call about a Tesla driver who appeared to be asleep at the wheel.
A deputy located the 2019 Tesla on I-94 and pulled up alongside it to get a better look at the driver, the agency said in a news release.
The deputy said the driver’s head was down and that it seemed like he wasn’t looking at the road.
The deputy turned on his lights and siren to try to pull over the car, but it kept cruising down the road for roughly 2 miles reaching speeds of more than 80 mph, police said.
The driver ultimately pulled over.
Dashcam video of the incident obtained by Fox6 shows the deputy’s vehicle approaching the side of the Tesla, sirens blaring, before the Tesla changes lanes then pulls to the side of the interstate.

A deputy tells the 38-year-old driver from Illinois that he’d been following him for 2 miles.
“You were sleeping. You were totally like this in the car,” the deputy says, dropping his head to his shoulder. “Why would we drive like that?”
The driver then says he wasn’t asleep but instead “a little bit tired,” the video shows.
“Your eyes were closed,” the deputy says. “I understand you have Autopilot, but if something were to happen, you’re not able to make that conscious decision to stop in a hurry.”
Tesla describes its Autopilot feature as an “advanced driver assistance system” meant for “a fully attentive driver, who has their hands on the wheel and is prepared to take over at any moment.”
The man was cited for inattentive driving.
