This is no Elon Time he has only a certain timeframe to get it done. Which is why he has to increase production of the equipment needed to build these stations. When you get Fed Grant Funds it has a timeline attached to it and has to be met or you will not get funding next time around. And President is pushing this so has to get done in a timely manner as more and more EVs hit the roads.

Yeah this is also something that Tesla actually can make money from, so I'm sure it will happen sooner than later.

Putting a timeline on installing the EV charging stations for fed $$: Smart move.

Elon is well known for over-promising and under delivering. The Tesla Truck and Roadster are two blatant examples as is "full self driving."

My concern is that Tesla will take the tax dollars and then turn around and hike up the price for non-Tesla vehicles. I hope there are some penalties and serious consequences if Tesla/Musk decide to gouge.

Yeah I think the biggest benefit is these stations are actually maintained on a regular basis, I don’t think I’ve heard of a SC being completely down without people knowing in advance
Which we can hope will prompt EA, Chargepoint and EVgo to up their game lest Tesla steal their lunch money. 🤑

I was watching an out of spec youtube video that discussed this and yes non-teslas pay more but can reduce the cost with a monthly subscription. Note though that this is in europe so fed funding limitations do not apply.

Multiple reasons.
1) Been using it on every Internet forum and Blog including CompuServe before windows 95 came around.
2) It indicates what I’m saying is just my opinion rather than the fantastic MacGyver types here who disassemble the car and can tell us everything about it including how to program it
They should be FMC engineers. I bet Ford can’t afford them ….it’s to differentiate that I am not one of them and do not take anything I say as fact …don’t ever try it out on your pony
3. It used to be the name of a blog I ran for struggling golfers and comments on the game in general until it became a pitch battle about who loves and who hates Tiger Woods so then I shut it down. Over a four year period I made $65.86 in click revenue. Lol. Chaching
4. It fascinates me how many people mimic it copy it and replicate it when I do it and question me about it because it doesn’t seem to be that big of a
freaking deal
5. In the last 20 years after using different screen names on different blogs about varying topics I found the same people Recognize me anyway and that was really kind of fun because we hadn’t talked in years and it was on a totally different topic so yeah that was fun
6. How do you know my name isn’t Jes Sayin. ?

anyway. Jes sayin
Did you ever see the Paul Reiser comedy bit about just sayin? His claim was you get off the hook for whatever you said because you weren't saying, you were just sayin. Here's the clip. The just saying starts about 1:57 mark.

I am in Misson TX and the only DC charger between here and San Antonio is in Encinlal TX (68kWh) just north of Loredo TX. It would be great if the Tesla Super Charger in Alice Springs TX would be converted as iit is in line with the route to San Antonio. But then the reason there limited chargers iin South Texas would be tat Alice Springs would be one of the last.

If it is a reasonable difference in price, I won't get upset. However if Tesla gets 80% funding for a station from our tax dollars then decides to charge 33% more for non-Teslas. I and others will have a problem with that.

I meant Alice TX, not Alice Springs, in case Tesla, EVAmerica or other providers are looking for unserved areas.

I'll believe it when it happens, but it would be huge. I'm sure tesla will jack the price on non-tesla though, so it'll likely be a network of last resort.
In France, you have the option to buy a monthly subscription and pay the same price as a tesla owner or pay an higher price without the subscription.

That subscription price is stupid. I mean I guess you break even after well under a full charge from empty for a mach e, but still. I thought EA's $4 monthly pass was a stupid price ("paid for" when you charge 40 kWh worth). It'd only ever be a thing if I could turn it on/off on a per month basis, and to be honest, just auto-turn-it-on when I pass that fee's savings in a single charge session (or track it centrally and turn it on when I pass it over multiple sessions... without autorenew in either case).
