Well just got home from a nice 2-hour test drive with the Etron.

Few things I liked about the E-tron.
1. Seats are great, amazing seats.
2. you get three screens and the one screen you can draw on. it's kinda neat.
3. Feels more like a small Suv and sits higher up.
4.Handling yes is better.
5. Of all the BEV I have tested now right at 10 it has the most comfortable ride. It's very smooth.
6 heat and air controls are a little more simple to use.
7.center console is done very nice also.
8. you get a spare tire.

few things I didn't like.
1 all the piano black a fingerprint magnet in there.
2. No really true 1 pedal driving.
3. Frunk is really not a frunk no room.
4.Sunroof is small.
5. Range is about 50 miles less than the premium AWD EXT range mache.
6.not really sporty as the mache more of a suv.

Really I liked it a lot. Mache, I-pace, E-Tron, ID4, tesla Model y and mode 3, Polestar 2, chevy bolt, kona. If I had to pick from that list. It would be the E_tron right after the mache.

The Etron is that good.

Now I have heard for weeks about oh it's so cheap the E-Tron now, its about the same price as the mache. Well you know my ass has to find out. I mean who wants to be wrong right?

The total incentive right now is 7,500 for the premium. It goes up another 500 for the premium plus and another 500 for the prestige E-tron. That's it went over it many times. Yes, your state might have more incentives yes the 7,500 tax credit. But that is what Audi is giving counting the Costco discount.

So with the Discounts The Audi Etron premium is still 6,000 more than the MAche AWD EXT range. But to get many of the same features you would have to buy the Audi Etron premium pls which is 68,000 after discount. About 14,000 more still.

But hey what do I know not like I purchased one right? ;) ;)

The E-Tron is definitely built as a "traditional" SUV and "traditional" luxury. It just looks boring to me, and it's way too big and boxy looking. I don't like the massive fake grille. I think even ID.4 looks more premium on the outside than E-Tron does, as it doesn't have a fake grille.

The charge curve is the thing that makes the E-Tron somewhat worth the price, but even then I don't think I could look at it every day. Doesn't hold a candle to Mach-E, IMO.

It's pretty darn heavy, I just bought a Premium Plus with a curb weight of 5700 lbs. That said, it doesn't feel heavy when you drive it. The CG is electric-vehicle low, the ride is very smooth, and hitting the accelerator can still push you back in the seat from a rolling start on an incline. The weight does come a higher overall load capacity, and a 4,000 lb towing rating.

That said, it's definitely a full SUV and not a crossover. The cameras make it easier to get into tight spots, but it's not small.

I'll push back on the pricing being so much higher, IF you can check all the incentive boxes you can bring it down significantly. I had a final dealer price of $69,127* for the Premium Plus, which ended up at $75,937 after adding all the licensing, registration, and probably more extended warranties and prepaid servicing than I strictly need. This number is NOT including the $7500 tax credit, so you can also call it $61,500 vehicle price if you want to count it that way.

*in the image below, there is a $399 add-on that isn't part of the vehicle price.

I agree chrome is out.
If you guys are otherwise interested in the e-tron but hate the chrome more than you like $1000, there's an "optic black" trim package that removes a lot of that shine.

I'm not bothered by it myself.

After destination, X Plan, Options discount, my Mach E Premium AWD is $52500. Your Audi E-Tron Premium Plus is $61900. Indeed that's a smaller difference than I expected. Thank you for sharing the numbers!

I really wish the Q4 etron sportsback was coming out sooner. Looks a lot better, potentially smaller
